I had a similar occurrence recently with Pride & Glory "Losin' Your Mind." Came out in '94 and I probably haven't heard it in 20+ years. Great song to turn up loud and just rock out.

Really dig that album overall. The banjo intro is super catchy on that tune. Find myself frequently singing "Fadin' Away" out of the blue too - such beautiful plaintiveness in that one

I watch a bunch of the other guitar channels too, Paul Davids, Music is Win, Marty Music, and pretty much all the other heavy hitter channels, but I think I like your channel the best. You have a large variety of cool topics and content and you seem very personable. I feel like you're not on camera putting on a show, you talk to the camera like you're talking to me in the room and doesn't seem fake. Keep up the good work Mike.

If you want to hear a song with cool guitar, drums and vocals, listen to "Light In The Dark" by Revolution Saints. This lineup had Jack Blades on bass and Doug Aldrich on Guitar. Deen Castronovo on drums and lead vocals. The new lineup is Deen, Joel Hoekstra on guitar (gotta keep the Night Ranger vibe) and Jeff Pilson on bass.

There's a lot of things I love about this video, as much as I love the song itself. (Gonna use the word LOVE a lot.) I love how you dissect and analyze the music and the voice, highlighting the complexity of the parts. Most of all, I love how YOU love it and are so into it, consumed by it. There's passion all over this and it's so great to watch. I think I'm going to like this D.E.A.L. series!

I bought this CD as soon as it came out and also went to the concert at the famous Budokan. This was Jimmy's return to the music scene after a long absence. So when Coverdale got to Page during introductions, the crowd went wild and gave him a five-minute standing ovation. I'll never forget the joy the audience poured out at him. IMHO, the album gets an A for effort and a B+ for quality. I did listen to it quite a bit.

I feel like David is not brought up enough as one of the greatest rock singers ever. He's amazing. Not only that, but his writing is amazing as well, both in melody and songs. He and Roger Daltrey, to me, are the quintessential rock vocalists.

In 93 I was 15 years old and in Atlanta, our local rock station 96 Rock was constantly playing this song and I believe there was one other single off of that album that got heavy rotation, if I remember correctly it opened up with a nice 12-string acoustic intro that was sort of a heavy ballad, I also have a recommendation, around the same time in 93 there was a band called Cry of love, and they had a song called peace pipe and I believe their second single was called, a new way, both were great songs that sounded like they could have been released in the 70s. I actually listen to the Coverdale page album on RU-vid again and the other two songs they played constantly were pride and joy and take me for a little while, I was looking for this on title and qobuz a while back but neither streaming service had the album, I'm not sure about Spotify but I wonder why this album is not available on those platforms, much like headless Cross by Black Sabbath isn't on any of the streaming services either.

96 Rock in the 70's and 80's was awesome. They played lots of b-side AOR, not the same songs over and over. They also had a morning show called the 96 Rock Wakeup Crew who did the best bits. They eventually pulled the "do something controversial and get fired." The DJs they added in later years weren't nearly as funny.

I miss 96 ROCK. I saw a tag on an old pick up truck like a week ago. We would put the tag on our cars and then get the stickers ,and use a razor blade to cut it out. and place them on our headlights. Even though we were teenagers back then I would totally do it again.

Yep this one and Pride and Joy - Losin' Your Mind occupy the same shelf in my brain's media room. Speaking of David Coverdale - you ever hear the original version of Here I Go Again from 1981 or 82? Found the video on here the other day and it is seriously weird because its only slightly different, which that messes with your expections.

Just a thought but poked around with the opening triplets a bit and I want to say that the first B is an open string pull off and the second B is 4th fret on the G. Although it's hard to see on most youtube videos if you watch Page play it live his right hand is moving too much to be playing it all on one string.

Lucked out catching this so early! I hadn't heard this song in a long long time, glad to be reminded since it was an excellent collaboration. This was a hell of a time for new rock bands started by old rockers. Coverdale and Page got together, Dee Snider started Widowmaker, Neal Schon started Hardline, Randy Jackson from Zebra started China Rain, Stephen Pearcy and Freddie Koury started Arcade, and Graham Bonnet formed Blackthorne with Frankie Banali, Chuck Wright, and Bob Kulick.
