I have ridden a few Intamin Giant Drops within the last few years that didn't have seatbelts. It actually felt kind of strange not having to fasten a belt to the harness as I am so used to Drop Zone as well as other US versions of the Giant Drop.
Yes it was. To be honest, it was more of a publicity stunt than anything but the couples on that ride were indeed married that day. If you look closely you may notice that all the brides wearing dresses had to have the lower portions of their dresses tied up so they wouldn't open on the drop. Had they not done that, it would have been a true thrill for all of us watching from the ground. =:^)
@ProjectCoaster - That year was a big year for the park. Even though I didn't care much for some of the Paramount stuff at the park, I did have a great time at the park those years.
I remember riding it back in 2017 for the first time ever and my first time visit Kings Island. Had to get the black and yellow shoulder harness slammed down to get the safety belt to latch, which it did, but got stuck aftermath. Couldn't get the safety belt to unlatched since I got pinned in, also my favorite ride there.
I can’t believe I actually road lex Luther which is a full 100 feet taller than this beat but the drop on this is much more intense. I don’t think I could handle a fee standing 400 foot drop tower that would be wild
Lex Luthor is a great ride, especially when the tower sways after a Superman car is heads up the tower. For some reason, all of the larger drop towers I have ridden aren't as intense as some of the smaller ones that are 100-feet tall or smaller.
Sean Flaharty I think it’s because the vehicle on lex is so small it on has about 10 people while this one has 40 it’s a much heavier vehicle which is why it’s so much more forceful I thibk
@@JJJJ-he8bz There is a lot more wind resistance with the Drop Zone vehicle. So much so that riders waiting in line are blasted with a "wave" of wind when the ride slows down after it drops. Only the small drop towers give me that stomach-in-your-throat feeling, sometimes. The larger ones don't at all. I wish I could have that feeling return to me as I love it. After years of riding, it's pretty much gone.
Sean Flaharty I’ve never ridden anything smaller than power tower I grew up in Cincinnati and I’ve herd the one I’m Kentucky kingdom is pretty nasty I’ll have to try it out
