Murphy, Murphy, darling dear I long for you now night and day Your pain was my pleasure, your sorrow my joy I feel now I've lost you to health and good cheer Darcy, when I met you I was five years too young A boy beyond his age, or so I'd tell someone Anyone who'd listen and a few who couldn't care Still I welcomed you with open arms, my love I did share [Chorus] Darcy, Darcy darling dear, You left me dying, crying there In whiskey, gin, and pints of beer I fell for you my darling dear You shut me off and you showed me the door But you always came crawling back begging me for more I showed you kindness, a stool, and a tab Then you poured me my pain in a dirty glass (Yeah, you left him bloody, battered, penniless, and poor) You know, I often stopped and wondered how you made it through my door With my brother's new non-duplicate registry ID Well you bit off more than you could chew the first day you met me. [Chorus] You weren't the first to court me mister you won't be the last Oh, I'm sure I wasn't honey, I know all about your past Listen to the big shot with his pager on call You spent most of those nights in my bathroom stall (Yeah, you got him high, but you left him low) Mind your own business, boy, how was I to know That he was just a fiend and a no-good cheat Well it's all in the past bitch 'cause now I've got it beat. [Chorus x4] My dear, my dear Darcy, Darcy my darling dear.
Damned; With the corona virus here, I almost missed ST Paddy's day, I am now getting cocked and making the best of it. God bless the Murphy's and God bless me.
Dropkick is a talented group. I was recently introduced to this band, not my genre of music. But this band really is awesome. I dig this irish style music. Worth checking out.........
There are 2 words that describe this song: Angry and Irish. But I mean every DM song can fall under those categories but the whole love scorned thing in this 1 really takes it up a notch. Amazing song.
Glad to have stumbled upon this. Saw this same tour/song in detroit. The Murhpys kicked ass as usual and it was awesome to have a female vocalist for this song
I'm actually glad I wasn't there.. my head would have exploded out of pure awesomeness and I wouldn't be able to enjoy this song right now wasted at 4am. Keep it real homies.
I live in Upper Michigan in the UP, in Marquette, Michigan and we still have working mines, strong union town. My father was a union president, my mom was actually fired from jobs because of her union activity. Good to see guys like these keeping this tradition and music alive! Slainte!!
My son changed the lady's name to "Christy" just before his divorce and played this every time I drove him to work. It's been three years since I last heard it, so had to hear it this morning....*grin*
I wish I could agree but this pales in comparison.....definitely not as good around the tree and the soothing tones of Shane while I hear my mom bitch about having to listen to him hahahaha. Poor Christy, she will be missed.
Just got my Tix for March 13 at Electric Factory. Seen them a few years back in NYC. Just an awesome show live. Can not wait. I've seen close if not more than 100 bands live and these guys are one of the best.
" Was hättest Du als Gast, in Germany gehört. ..nicht so was ...Hut ab. Ich danke Dir. Das grosse, liegt oft im Kleinen. Danke dafür.
