This has been happening quite a bit recently. I've seen a few other videos of people doing this exact same thing. It's always important to have a spotter even if they just help you rerack. That much weight can do some serious damage to yourself.
Thats only bc he is tall af and doesnt wann’s bring out the best out of himself for the Sport. Yk Eddie is "only" 6’3 so he knew he had to get a massive belly, Health Problems etc to be the World Champion and hit World records. Thor just does enough to keep staying at the top.
From now on whenever I'm faced with a challenge I will SCREAM like an icelandic warrior. And everyone will look to me with boundless respect and honor 😤
Good lesson here, kids. Even Hafthor makes mistakes lifting weights, never lift heavy without spotters and use properly adjusted safety straps, arms or pins in any rack you lift in.
At these weights spotters are not necessarily effective because it is very difficult to stop such a weight and they can get injured, it is better to just use a suitable cage
Why tf does the strength athlete with arguably the most money on the line and weight on the bar for his sessions not have spotters, making sure he doesn't end his career prematurely?!? Could've ended a lot worse
I love how the cameraman rushed in to help, knowing good and well there’d be nothing he could do to help. “I may die in the process, but I’ll do everything in my power to save you my dear friend.”
I respect the camera man running up to deflect the weight or probably catch it. Idk who’s filming but majority of ppl would get REALLY fucked up trying to catch/deflect what Thor squats💀
Be careful but man I’m so glad you’re back! Boxing is cool and you got in crazy shape but man I’m glad to see you lifting again!!! Bring Larry wheels back to island please!! Those were my favorite
It happens to the best of us. I've been training for 20+ years and about a week ago I dropped the 95 lbs dumbbells on my chest doing a flat-bench press. Moral of the story: weight training is always dangerous.
Come in wwe man believe me your going to be so much successful in wwe u have everything size look aura u just need to train for wrestling moves bring cool theme song cool gear and your gonna blew everyones mind
For this reason, I've never used the monolift or open squat rack. Something so simple could be the difference in lifting for years to come or getting seriously injured
A slow mo of the video, it looks like you hurt your thumb but the weight hit the hanging pole which held the weight back for you to pull your hand out. That weight could've easy smashed your hand. You got lucky and hope whatever thumb injury you have that you heal up 👍
