I wish they would do a video of one of these yard makeovers from the beginning. I imagine they are bringing in big machines to reshape the land prior. I really want to know how they get all the electricity and water underground to all the features without any visible cords, pipes, etc.
Taking notes! Pragmatism, water conservation, and beautiful native plant groupings =amazing design. Also appreciated the tip of using road base under pea gravel so you don’t sink. Thanks for this great video!
My goodness! I can look at your garden all day! It is so soothing and cohesive. The walled portions really help provide a sense of coziness and privacy. Beautifully done!
I love what I think are clumps of wild native grasses(?) and are those palo verde trees? Love the round stone bench/sculpture with the agave growing from the center. This is a beautiful garden that softens the typical mid-century modern geometric (sometimes overly stark) landscape aesthetic, and yet fits with the era of the house -- great design job!
Just wonderful, I have been researching "backyard landscaping designs" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Giyily Landscaping Yatty - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend got great results with it.
I would love to know the price of all the Pea Gravel and those Fountains. She speaks about 'natural beauty' but this garden did not come to look like this naturally. I like the outline of the grass she did with the gravel. That is a very nice idea.
Beautiful garden! Any chance that you'll be adding closed captioning for the hearing impaired? The visual is gorgeous and I'd like to catch the narration as well.
Yes the stones are limestone. There are several limestone quarries nearby Austin Texas. While digging a garden like this one you will likely dig up a lot of rough limestone. Just below the top soil there is usually “Texas hard pan” ancient seafloor that is now limestone. I like how you can often find fossils in the limestone.
I created separate garden areas and used cardboard, then planted in it. It took 2 years of layering cardboard in a few beds to finally get it under control.
