My dear Father, Having been a priest now for twenty six years unfortunately in the post Vat 2 Church, I have been concerned since my earliest years as a seminarian and priest at the failure of all of the reforms to empahasize the transcended and the correct understanding of man before God most particularly in the funeral liturgy. Please keep up your great apostolate at patristic nectar and in the parish of St Andrew. It is my hope to visit there one day. In Christo!
This is so good. Thank you, thank you. I was convicted. Unfortunately, I’m one of those don’t-rock-the-boat people, and I’ve realized that includes lying to keep the peace. Wow. Thank you very much. Time to change, with Christ’s help.
Such a truthful message. The deceit around us is literally sickening sometimes. Josh Hawley did a great job in today's hearing. Along those lines, I think your likes are being suppressed. And I haven't thought of the Thompson Twins for so long - thanks for the laugh.
TY Father......Lord help me always to tell the truth!....I remember you Father and the believers at Saint Andrew's when I say my morning and evening prayers. Please continue to fight the good fight!
Father Josiah, watching you over this computer screen is enough to hear your words directly and understand your message. It is good we have all of this recording and transmission these days. Rest assured, my opinion is that thoughts cannot be heard through a screen -- thought hearing cannot pass a certain physical (in metres, or yards, whatever) radius!!!
I am also an Orthodox priest living in Greece but born and raised in America. It is obvious to me that the media not only in America but all over the world is a manipulative biased group of filth pedlars. We live in a fake world and without Christ we are lost. It pains me to hear someone say that a departed love one who was not a believer would nevertheless be found in heaven because he was a good man.
First as a lay person and now as a priest I have always spoken what I believe is the truth. A lot of people don't like it. I DO NOT CARE. And as an epilogue Don't lie to.children because you think they are too sensitive. They are tougher than you think. God bless you all.
Dear Father, I am Ephraim, an orthodox christian living in Sydney, where there are many Orthodox Churches. I have listened to your podcasts for years and thank you gor feeding many spirituality in this way. Forgive the length here but I though you could help. I have an Antiochian Cathedral a 2 minute walk with me and whenever I ask the Archimandrite for confession he says to come back in 3 days. The confession would take 5 mins max. I confronted him in public: I kissed his hand (for he rebuked me...not his preference...) I then asked him why he always delays my confession "I'm testing your faith" was his response. So i have an Orthodox confessor literally around the corner for 3 years and has never heard my confession. Instead I have to travel quite a distance to a Greek Arx and he is available all day for confession, but he doesn't understand me and gets angry with me because I think his interpretation is off...he misses nuance altogether and so I am afraid to go to him. I am in a moral bind here that's taring me up. Also, I have tried confession with the Russians and Serbs and feel uncomfortable eith othets hearing (which does happen. Standing in line I've had to close my ears. Do you have any advice here of what to say, etc? It would be ideal to go to the Antiochian Arx around the corner... Also, since youth I've felt called to priesthood and monasticism. I approached the Antiochian Metropolitan in person, expecting him or another of the hierarchy to want to meet me at some stage. I confronted the Antiochian Arx around the corner and told him. He said that I had done everything in reverse and has helped me in no way to meet the bishop for minor orders. All I told the metropolitan was my that I have an MTh from the Greek orthodox college and that I desired to offer myself to the Church. I'm not sure where to go from here. I wouls value any feedback, Godwilling Ephraim Lister MTh
A challenging message - and a much needed one! Thank you! I does occur to me however, that to many people, someone who is careful to be truthful will be seen as needing an attitude adjustment. The truth just isn't what many people want to hear . . .
Thompson Twins "Lies" (1982). Lords of the New Church (also 1982): "Open Your Eyes" see the lies right in front of you. Both of these lyrics come to mind almost daily.
This is the truth. Government, Mainstream Media, people in a position of authority, and so on. Most people lap.it up, finding a false sense of security with these lies I am the Way the TRUTH and the Life said Christ. A nd people shun and run away from this beautiful truth. Lord, have mercy on us 🙏
Father , thank you for this message. (I am looking at your bookshelf behind you -- a habit I have , I can't go to someone's house without immediately looking at the books on their shelf ... when they have no books I don't know what to do and usually I leave early ... I see many books on your shelf that I also have on my bookshelf. )
Father I absolutely love your videos thank you! Would you possibly do a reflection on the diaconate? Maybe for those who think they should serve the church in a greater way yet don’t know if the full responsibility of the priesthood is for them.
I have personally met Brigid, Patrick and Columba in Midland. That is, their "manifestations" on people that were in severe pain... Saints do watch over us. Mohammed watches over his followers. It is a long discussion, maybe I can record something eventually.
I'm not sure where you because you posted that 2 years ago, but know that the priest has heard so many things in confession, and he will most probably not even be surprised to hear your confession. They are meant to be helpful to you, they are not demeaning. Know that the Lord knows everything you have done, so it is not like you are telling him so he can know. That is why it is important to confess everything you can think of, for it is said that they only thing you are not forgiven of is the thing you purposefully don't confess even if you know it is a sin! That would also apply to not confessing at all. Talk to your priest about it if you are nervous/shy, I'm sure he will help you with it!
@@josephsaab7208 thanks for your reply by Gods Grace i did confession in june of 2020 & then again in 2021 of jan i think. After that in 2021 september. Tho i went unprepared and forget some sins which I remembered after the Priest gave me absolution.
@Cliff Patt I believe that if you forgot some those sins are forgiven aswell, just not if you purposefully don't say them. So don't be worried about that.
Maybe... maybe!! I should not have said ALL OF THEM, yet for SOME OF THEM it does manifest!!! Cannot test it now, yet I have seen recordings that are highly suggestive.... I am posting one of these recordings right now.
So on the feast day of St. Macrina (the younger) you call her 'such a liar' for being a universalist? She firmly believed 'all is gonna be okay' but not in a cheap liberalism but a profound and deep hope in the God who does not leave what His hand begun, finishes what He started and eradicates evil from existence. Apart from that, thank you very much for your inspired thoughts. I do respect you.
When St Macrina and St Gregory of Nyssa were living, the doctrine of apocatastasis (that is the salvation of all, including the devil himself) had not yet been condemmned. But later it was, by the 5th ecumenical council. Keep in mind that in orthodoxy, no one is infallible, not even the saints. The only one infallible is Christ himself, and by extention, his body (that is the body itself, not those that comprise it) ie the church, by virtue of having God incarnate as the head.
Very true However, it’s the citizens themselves who are causing all this referring to the Google/ You Tube inquiry. If 95% of the population strongly voices out their discontent to their politician and demand change for the better...change will happen...if the general public has just a concern and continues with the status quo , then nothing will and will get worse. Too many conflict of interest preventing positive change. But, there is always hope TY and God Bless.
