Patristic Nectar Publications is a non-profit California business created to advance the cause of the Orthodox Christian faith by the publication of materials for catechesis designed both for the edification of Orthodox believers and the illumination of a wide array of non-Orthodox inquirers. Our publications are marked by zealous fidelity to the mind of the Orthodox Church as expressed in the writings of the Holy Fathers and produce a wide range of patristic audiobooks to bring the wealth of Sacred Tradition to a generation attuned to listening rather than reading.
"Our nature contracted the disease of sin because of the disobedience of one man, that is Adam, and thus many became sinners. This was not because they sinned along with Adam, because they did not then exist, but because they had the same nature as Adam, which fell under the law of sin… the whole nature of man became guilty in the person of him who was first formed." + St Cyril of Alexandria
The Catholics and conservative Lutherans (e.g. LCMS) have a robust private school and university system. Orthodox parishes need more classical schools (and homeschooling) along classical Orthodox Colleges. The public schools and universities are not an option.
I have to say i agree with the protestant part but the catholic church part I can’t 100% agree on because the catholic church asks of much sacrifice on christians ends
What to do if an Orthodox Church commemorates a Patriarc or bishop that has hérétique ideas or participates in the WCC. Shall we attend ? Does it has repercussions for lay people ?
Except that the father is talking about western protestantism, the modern type. I am from a country in eastern europe and I am baptist. Our churches, most of them, are also very conservative and very alike with what the father says.
Men are flocking to Catholicism as well. Sure a small amount might become Orthodox, but men are becoming Catholic in droves. We want submission to Christ’s Vicar and uniformity on teaching against the wickedness of birth control and divorce. Orthodoxy cannot provide that because it is not unified.
"Cowardice is the daughter of unbelief." In prayer on this very issue yesterday, I realized that my lack of faith, i.e. fears, are essentially a supplanting of God's primacy in my life, and a subsequent insertion of myself as the prime mover in my life. But for Him, I am nothing, and nothing happens, but for His will. When I fear, I fear that I will not be able to attend to my own needs, or the needs of those who depend upon me. As such, my fear is prideful apotheosis in that I posit myself as the source of blessing and cursing. If there is a solution, I must find it. If there is a conflict, I must be victorious. If there is a risk, I must mitigate it. However, If I truly have faith in God as my Abba Father in heaven, I have nothing to do with any of that, and thus my concern as to what "I will I do" is irrelevant and vane. My job is to follow my Father's will, and trust Him as my Father for the outcomes He chooses for my life. I know it sounds daunting, but it alleviates all the responsibility which I so proudly heap upon myself, and thus also alleviates all the fears I ultimately have which are logically predicated upon my own inevitable insufficiency. In short, I will never have "peace which passes all understanding" when I rely upon myself. In turn, I am ashamed of my fear when I recollect all the miracles and blessing which God has heaped upon me. I know, more than most, that God "will never leave me or forsake me," and thus my fear is an undoubted offense to God. I repent in humility.
Divorce is a betrayal of your faith. Most divorces today are filed under irreconcilable differences. Not abuse. Women file 70-80% of the time against the man's wishes. Look up the statistics.
Well that’s just a claim. We have no reason to think science won’t advance to the point of extreme life extension or only non natural deaths. We also have no reason to think Jesus and friends (because he isn’t the even the only person in the Bible who avoids death), escaped death. That is just another claim, with no backing.
As I said in another vid, Orthodox and Catholics who speak of their particular jurisdiction as "the one holy Catholic apostolic church" always arrive at a point where they acknowledge, at least in the moment, that other Christians do indeed help comprise "the Church."
Atheism, Liberalism, LGBTQ are Construct's created by the Evil One, who planted the seed of vileness into the minds of the Spiritually Vunerable to stray away from God.
A lot what happened in USA is because Protestants twisted the Scriptures! They didn’t know what repentance is. Outside of Orthodoxy Bible is a close Book. This is the problem!
ABSOLUTELY more edits like this. A great way to appeal to the youth is advertising in a way the younger generations are used to being appealed to. If we can show the beauty of the Church through small snippets like this, I'm sure more will be willing to listen to those longer interviews and instructional videos. God willing.
When Orthodox or Catholics claim their institution is the "one holy Catholic and apostolic church" and imply others are outside salvation, they invariably run into contradictions and have to resort to something akin to the Protestant "invisible church" idea to resolve them. (Catholics usually call this "the heavenly church" or something like that). In the case of Orthodoxy, there isn't a single Orthodox Church - they started schisming as early as the third century, and today we have Oriental Orthodoxy (Armenia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq, India) against Eastern Orthodoxy (Greece, Ukraine) against Russian Orthodoxy (Russia). Russia and Ukraine are literally putting us all at risk of nuclear war due partially to this dispute. It isn't clear if Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, etc. align with either party. Then we have smaller schismatic groups, like the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, that were once regarded as heretics but suddenly become full Orthodox when they reach a property agreement with one of the patriarchs. (Can you even imagine God sending you to hell one day, and then counting your soul redeemed the next, simply because people you've never met in a home office reach an agreement about the clergy pension plan with another Orthodox outfit?) In Russia, we had a supposed true church underground, that wouldn't accept the KGB-managed church. I understand that's all good now. Some time ago, the Oriental and Eastern Orthodox agreed to let bygones be bygones and accept each other as valid churches. (This seems to gloss over some questions about the Biblical canon, as the Oriental Orthodox have a different set of deuterocanonical books, especially the Ethiopians.) But they aren't yet formally united. So obviously, the "one church" rule is pretty flexible.
In today's society you need to understand that if you truely practice your Christian faith, you will most likely become destitute and have a rough life. Corporate America hates people with values that they can't dictate. I find it interesting that I only here people who are well off taking about this.
THIS is the reason why the Church IS, and not how protestants describe it "personal faith". This is the teaching from the beginning, why Jesus had disciples and they in turn carried on to the bishops of today. This is the reason why Protestantism is wrong. You just cannot make your own reasoning on Gods revelations. It is a form of arrogance
We must leave heresy(false teachings) the Orthodox Church is the church of the Apostles and continues to be till this day and I advice all you to seek the true church and you will find it ☦️
