DRS Class 37s at Preston Lancaster & Carnforth in July 2015 

At the end of July 2015 on a visit to Lancashire I was fortunate enough to capture some of the Northern Train Services operated by Direct Rail Services and hauled in "Top n Tail" formation by DRS Class 37 Locomotives. I captured two services in particular the 05.15 Carlisle to Preston via Barrow - in - Furness (2C32) and the return working the 10.04 Preston to Barrow - in - Furness (2C47). Their are two diagrams operating Monday to Friday with two rakes of MKII stock and DRS Class 37s between Carlisle and Barrow - in - Furness but only the first service reaches Preston. The tail end 37 will shortly be replaced by a DBSO as rumour has it and the diagrammed haulage is until further notice. I witnessed these two workings over a three day period from 29th - 31st July at Preston, Lancaster and Carnforth stations. DRS are also operating services between Norwich and Lowestoft so capture it all while it lasts. Hope you enjoy the "brief encounter".
