I was thinking the same thing. It’s rare to have a community that respects the reactor not to spoil it for them. I knew how hard this episode was going to be for Jackie.
So we knew that Lukas was a trans person when the season just started, and I was holding my breath until this very episode came out, because i was hoping that they would use it to change the mental health storyline(that was used not only in Skam OG), AND THEY DID. The amount of happiness i felt that day, you have no idea. I think this is the main reason why Druck s3 is my favorite remake(i am not naming whole remake as my favorite because Skam Italia exists) - the way they handled this whole storyline was incredible. Also I've mentioned the worst weeks to watch it live - THIS WAS THE ONE. So little was happening, the ep overall turned out very short, and that ending just killed me😔
I said it once and I’ll say it again: I’m genuinely so excited and happy that you like the German version of SKAM. This show was randomly recommended to me by the time the first season started and i was hooked instantly! I love DRUCK. All the different storylines, the actors the music the way the show was produced… I could go on and on…. Because I was born and raised in Germany it just hits differently when I watched your DRUCK reactions compared to watching your SKAM reactions. I’m sure you’re gonna love all of the seasons and would be very happy to watch more DRUCK reactions in the future ☺️
I am such a huge fan of Druck S3. It makes me SO HAPPY to see you enjoying it as much as I did! You’re such a great person Jackie, thanks for all your content! 💛xo
this is by far my favourite version of isak & even's story, as a trans man, when i found out about them introducing a trans character into the show, i was super excited. i watched it back in 2019 when it came out and felt SO seen by david's charatcer. and the fact that lukas is trans himself and helped work on david is just so wonderful. lukas also helps produce some of the episodes in the later seasons too, and if you watch those you *may* see some familiar faces.
One question you asked that I forgot to answer when I watched this on Patreon: the remake that really goes more into the relationship between the “Isak character” and his mother that I’ve seen is Skam Italia, which chooses to make this particular storyline its second season, rather than its third, so the same things are going on in it between Martino (the Isak character) and Niccolò (the Evan character) while Martino is living with his mother, who has similar issues to Isak’s mother. It’s the biggest way that Skam Italia is different from the OG.
As someone who recently came out as trans and who’s family thinks I’ll never find love since I like boys this show gives me hope. I actually found this show right around the time I starting putting the pieces together and was starting to realize I was trans.
I think that Matteo had every right to seek the advice of a trusted confidant about David telling him he was trans. It is David's to share broadly, but asking for a single person's input on something in trust about a fact that isn't directly about you but which has repercussions on one's relationship and already in-flux sexuality, I think makes it so Matteo is perfectly in the right to talk to his roommate about it. If he had told people at school that would have been a very different story, but sometimes you need advice about stuff and it requires some outside help.
