He was filmed at 16 years old. The entire 3 seasons take place over a single school year. He was filmed last fall and now it is late winter/early spring.

15:10 as much as I agree with you I also think that the main reason why Wille is so impulsive is because at his home he is extremely restricted in every little thing all the time. So I'd say it's natural he grew up to be as impulsive. Nobody really ever cares about how he feels, so he literally has to go to the extremes to be heard

I agree 1000000% that Simon should have been included in the car conversation with wille and the woman he was talking too! They should have been clear with him from the start on the expectations and what is and is not allowed so that he knows and agrees to it. All I will say is that this does come up later in the show as well. It sucks bc Simon isn’t the type of person to want to filter or finish what he believes in or wants to fight for, especially because of who he is and what kind of class and stuff he comes from he wants to have a voice and be heard but at the same time he does come to understand the consequences of being in a public relationship with wille and it just really sucks fr! I love this show so much and I love your reactions to it Jackie thanks for being such a wonderful person ❤❤❤

Wile is super privileged, but he also lives in a very gilded cage. And he has been conditioned to believe he is responsible for holding up this system of monarchy. In a way, Wile is in a cult culture. He also knows very little outside of his worldview, which has been very curated and controlled. As someone who grew up queer in a cultish religion, I really see the parallels. On top of all of this, the one person who was his confidant and safety in his family, his brother Eric, is gone. It doesn’t help that his parents, his mother especially, are so consumed by their grief that they don’t even see their other son. This is so much more than a queer story, but the fact that it is a queer story makes it even more complicated. Wile has his jerk moments this season, but I don’t think he has been taught how to behave any other way. It is too bad he doesn’t have anyone else to model things for him. Felice is his only neutral and nonromantic relationship. Nils might have been a good option, but he is too elitest. I kinda wish he could spend time with Simon’s mom. Someone should mom/mentor this kid!

I feel the worst for Wille-there’s not a single adult truly supporting this young guy with tremendous pressure on him. Think about it. People criticize him but imagine you’re 16 - 17 and you’re dealing all of this without any emotional support. SMH it’s heartbreaking 💔

It's difficult to separate my joy at Wille being brave and admitting everything with the fact that he didn't take Simon's feelings or wishes into account. This is why people say he's incredibly impulsive in that way. He acts b/c he knows he's protected by the Court. Simon does not have that luxury. I know they're young but they really need to learn some basic communication or they'll not make it.

I hate Vincent more than August this season. 💀💀

Don't want to be a pessimist, but... I'm really not seeing how this could end with them together. I want them to, of course... but their realities are so different and they are very young. Like, the only solution that comes to my mind right now is that Wille gives up the Crown in order to live a "normal" life with Simon. But if he continues in the royal path, Simon's will be so limited and he is such a free soul that I can't imagine it. Crying and ready to cry some more haha. 😭😭😭

Interesting things about this season .... The lighting most scenes are very bright - suggesting that it will all be coming out into the open Simon's key chain - them standing between the lockers with the middle finger key chain between their hands AFTER that very public kiss ( its like them saying FU) The light colours they are wearing - Willie's colours suggesting hope and newness ... Simon goes back and forth between his old clothes and new light neutral colours or greys ... showing he is conflicted and raising the question will he conform ( what the greys suggest) will he be neutral and focus on Willie ... or will remain the Simon we met in seasons 1 and 2 the fact that ever time willie sits on the bed so far ... he is sat between the pic of him and Simon and the DARN red light ( from the last 2 season .. every time we saw those light on Willie was in contemplating a choice he needed to make ) I like that they are showing us Felice grieving her friendship with Sara

I had the same thoughts about felice and sara. I'm just glad they're talking about how platonic relationships can be just as important and just as hard. I love that you mentioned the heartstopper moments haha the bookshelf scene and some others in this season kept reminding me of them lolll. and loveless! I love that you quoted what Georgia says about platonic relationships. You usually catch things I don't and help me process everything going on. And it helps that you're a heartstopper fan bc I often think of it when I watch other shows

They did not give us a climb.. they started us at the top of the freaking Rollercoaster and left us in free fall The Kiss - Willie was like ..in the event you didn't understand my speech ..SIMON IS MY BOYFRIEND !!! he my MANZ !!!! Re the conversation in the car : I think Farima ( the lady in the car) see's the upsides of the relationship but to have the conversation officially with Simon she needs Jan Olaf's and the Queens approval . the Queen can't even look at Her son ... hearing about Simon will surely tip her over the edge .. and even if Jan Olaf is ok with the relationship he is not OK. with them being open ... so he will not be giving Willie and support right now Willie's impulsiveness is NOT a product of privilege but rather a response to the constraints he has faced. His actions are those of someone tasting freedom for the first time. Prior to this, every aspect of his life was meticulously controlled-from his attire and public demeanour to his opinions on societal matters, Willie's autonomy was nonexistent. Now, experiencing a semblance of liberty, especially after his relationship was accepted (a battle he viewed as winning), he is feeling like, “Damn, if I just act, it will be okay. I will win. I will be okay.” Willie is navigating this newfound freedom with an eagerness like that of a sheltered child finally stepping into the wider world for college, ready to do everything they were not previously allowed to do, without thinking about why it was not allowed. Simon, like many, has honed his relational and social skills through years of interaction. In contrast, Willie is at the starting line. He lacks a fundamental understanding of how genuine relationships and friendships function because he's never had the chance to form them. For Willie, this period is about living and taking control of his life. He does not have the experience of knowing that even in taking control, he must consider others, especially a partner. It's unfortunate, but like the rest of us, he will have to learn this lesson by losing Simon. Willie being Public - Have you forgotten Seasons 1 and 2 ..Willie was the one hiding not wanting to be seen and Simon wanted to be public ( not as public a willie as made it but public). I think Willie is 1 riding on the high of being Bold and winning against the Royal Court and 2 i think he wants to give Simon what he thinks Simon wants ... by being public Simon just wanted to be able say we are together or not to sneak in the room Willie interprets that VERY VERY public displays of affection... GOD BLESS HIS HEART

3:14 In Season 2, we saw the Valentine's Ball, so that's February. Maybe the Jubilee was in March or April? I was guessing that it's been a week or two?? Maybe April. Felice was happy that Wille was coming back and had said she missed him. Then they mention that graduation is two months away. In the U.S., high school graduations are often in June (university graduations are usually in May). So April seems to fit.

Don't know where you are in recording but you're in for one hell of a ride.

(16:50) You mentioning that reminded me that just last month I read a book were the main character basically had that job of designing rooms on film sets. It's has a queer main character and it's called "everything leads to you" by Nina LaCour, if you're interesting in reading it.

So much happened in one episode! I’m stressed as well…I’m only two episodes in (trying to spread it out since it’s the final season and I will be sad when it’s done) but I already hate the whole school curfew/restrictions storyline. Hoping that part of this is short lived.
