This sounds like the eagles, steely dan and Fleetwood Mac. It’s so dope, rock really is in a golden age rn, being out of the spotlight of the public has really pushed it into such a beautiful direction
I was very surprised by this once it kicked in. I heard so many things in it, touches of Crosby Stills & Nash, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, 10cc, Gerry Rafferty. If I was in the car, cranking up the AM radio as loud as it could go, and this came on, I just might turn off at the next exit and find the nearest wrecka stowe and pick this single up! Maybe even the album.
You've been living life on a thin line But it really gets you down... You could try, but it don't feel right Oh, to light a candle for the underground Its not the same song you remembered; You can try but its just plain wrong Fools, they lie to each other Fools, may hide from their lovers You've been having lots of late nights But it really wares you down.. Dancin' to the beat of the music Oh.. light a candle for the underground Its not the same song you remembered You can try, but its just plain wrong Fools, they lie to each other Fools, may hide from their lovers
It's that bassline that keeps me coming back. The foundation & groove created by the drums and bass working together on this is really what makes this song great.
THIS 21ST CENTURY 70S MUSIC IS MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN THE OVERLY POP INFUSED HORSE CRAP BEING PUT OUT TODAY BY MOST MUSICIANS DRUGDEALER YOU ARE ONE PF THE LUCKY FEW TO BE ABLE TO BRING PAST MUSIC INTO ANOTHER AGE
While some older people still stucking with the past and whine / crying about no good music in nowadays (Oh! You didn't tried to find it) I laugh at them and that type of comment. Because nowadays It actually have a lot of good new artists, "A LOT" of good new music and we enjoyed to find it and introduced it to other people.
OMG this is such a Laurel Canyon 70s flashback but in the most epic way possible. Both my face and soul have the hugest grin from listening to this. Listening to this reminds me of why I adore music so much. Musicians are def a sacred caste of society.
This song came up on a Spotify discover playlist for me and I've had it on repeat multiple times a week since. The lead singer's voice, the background vocals, the lead guitar tone, everything is exactly what I'm looking for in music. I was shocked to learn that this is a modern group and not a 70s era Steely Dan counterpart. Incredible work.
I heard this on KCRW and thought how is it possible there’s a Dan tune I don’t know!?!Are these outtakes from Countdown to Ecstasy?!?! No Fool, it’s Drugdealer. Awesome hybrid.
My hands down fave collaboration. I was supposed to see them live in Philly. Kept thinking it was the 27th. It wasn't it was the 17th. Yup. Mercury Retograde. The Struggle is real. This song is all that and more.
