I'm glad to hear lifestyle changes have a 50% chance. I don't want any more drugs or ablation due to current nerve issues.

Thank you Dr Day.. I’m buying your book now.. need to get off the meds.. I lost 20kg and body in good shape. But getting more difficult to exercise as the spike in HR only happens during 2 minutes while starting my 7km daily walks (120 bpm then back down to 70-80) and then when I’m totally relaxed after exercising walking to the car, it goes to 130-140 and not feeling good to say the least. I’m on 1.25mg bisoprolol, 5mg ELIQUIS twice per day and EXFORGE 5/80 .. upper atriums 10 and 20% enlarged, and mild stenosis reduction of heart arteries (3) which I think is not there anymore or much reduced as I’m on Dr Caldwell Esselstyn’s plant based Nitric Oxide diet (L-arginine) 2 months now and did a 72 hour only water fast.. I just need the discomfort to go away and I never had the discomfort until I was medicated .. thank you for listening

It's really a shame that when the ablation therapy is successful for a patient, that if the patient was started on drug therapy first, the drug therapy gets the credit. That's very misleading for patients, when we are simply trying to get the best information available before making big medical decisions in our lives. Appreciate your work, Dr. Day. Thank you.

How long does an ablation work? Does the procedure need to be repeated over time?

This is a GREAT book. Also I have read UnDo It by Dr. Ornish. I have changed to a vegan/vegetarian diet. Feeling better.

Yes, both books are helpful. Each person is responsible for their own health.

Could you do a video or comment on the best way to treat asymptomatic Afib in young and otherwise healthy individuals?

I was in your situation, having paroxysmal AFib -- and running. I chose ablation, if it is cryo-ablation, it is quite simple. good luck.

Dr Day, what are your thoughts about the Wolf Mini Maze. His results are superior to cath ablation and completely eliminates the risk of afib related stroke and obviates the need for anticoagulants. Dr Wolf does his procedure at The Debakey Cardiology and Cardiovascular Center. There has never been a death with about 90+% success rate.

Repeated Wolf Mini Maze never needed while catheter ablations are often done several (2-6x) times. Dr Wolfs procedure has successfully treated afib after EPs say nothing more can be done.

Hi Dr Day . In the end of the video you state that " in older patients " you would like to try life style optimization, then AADsand then ablation. How do you define older patients? I am 66 and was diagnosed with AFIB in August. Thank you.

I just had my 1st AFIB episode in 15 months. I previously had an ablation scheduled but canceled just out of fear, honestly. Anyway, caffeine seems to be the main trigger for my episodes. Obviously quitting drinking caffeinated drinks should be the 1st move, by aside from that, any recommendations?
