It sucks that Maybelline’s shade names aren’t the same across their foundations, it’s so hard to find matches whenever they have a new one. But I love the Superstay in 220, it’s been my go-to for going on almost a year :)
Thank you soooooooo much!!!!!! Thanks to you explaining every undertone from each foundation and swatching it each shade giving so much detail I was finally able to find a foundation that fits For the FIRST TIME EVER!! I had no idea I had a bit of an Oliver undertone but your skin tone is a lot like mine so I decided to try and the one from nyx in medium olive fits me like a glove❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.... Plz!!!! Keep making foundation videos like these....they are extremely helpful! I have tried for years and I have been professional match but they always match me with the wrong undertone and skin tone...too light or too dark. You have made my 2020 sooo much better!!
@@_Alexmojica The nyx born to glow in medium olive is my exact match. The shade that fits me in the Maybelline matte and Poreless is Rich tan it is not to yellowy at all.....I think that shade will suit you very well.
Nyx born this way is the only one I have finished! I have a lot of expensive foundations but not even got down to half a bottom of drugstore or high end. Just ordered another Nyx .🤍
Thank you!! I realized my foundation looked too pinky toned on me even after trying to adjust the shade, and that I am a warmer olive tone instead. I'll try some of these foundations out :)
Im olive as well. Dior Skin Glow in 3WO, (which stands for 3 Warm Olive) is perfect for me, but it is so matte and heavy despite being called “skin glow.” I try to put vitamin E in it and it does not help. Its like super glue. So sometimes I use my Maybelline fitme 225 or 230 & I just line my jawline with the Dior 3WO so that nobody can see the 225 get pink or the 230 get orange against my neck
Thank you sooo much you’ve saved me so much money you have no idea how many foundations I’ve bought and not returned because I forgot and they were too orange or pink!!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous foundation has an olive undertone as a selection. 305N is medium skin with a neutral olive undertone. 310C is medium skin with a cool olive undertone. They go deeper with shades, too. I am more neutral vs cool if I had to choose. I do lean towards warm.
Very helpful video, thanks. The only problem is that you placed some foundations on thick and thinned out others so it is still difficult to judge which foundation blends best with your skin.
Omggg Finally I find someone with the same undertone and shade as what I feel I am. I struggle sooo much finding my shade. New subscriber here. All have all the wrong shades in the loreal and maybelline. Glad to have found your channel.
Hi Alex, great video. I have the same skin type as you. It’s hard to find the right foundation. Which foundation out of all these you think is the best in terms of coverage?
Thanks for this video! It was really helpful, I think I'm going to give the NYX one a try because I already have another shade of it and the formula is nice but it's waaaay to yellow for my skin
found a shade in fit me dewy that’s almost exactly my skintone, the shade 210 sandy beige, if it was more green it would literally be my perfect match. its a little bit orange. i think now all i need is a good green mixer and i should be set, i’ll definitely get the other shades you mentioned in the fit me line because its my holy grail ride or die foundation and try those out as well so i have a nice array of foundation shades without any pink or peach tones so i can mix and stuff to adjust to getting tan/pale throughout the year
im also definitely going to refer to this video for every single time i want to buy a new foundation from the drugstore from now on, im saving this to my important makeup videos playlist lmao
Hi! Finally found someone with a similar skintone to mine! 😍 I have an olive skintone with a neutral undertone, not too rosy and not too yellow-ish. I also have mixed-oily skin. Which of these foundations in the video would you recommend? 🤔 I really don't know much about this stuff 😅 I would use it only in certain places, very lightly, mainly on my dark undereyes!
I have reviews for almost any of these, honestly don’t remember what I like anymore I haven’t worn foundation in a while so if it helps I suggest watching the reviews of my thoughts on most
Pls try maybelline matte and poreless in 220 natural beige. It's different with the superstay. It has slightly olive. It match my skin perfectly.. I have olive skin in light medium.
my face is super red (i think its rosacea) but my actual skin is super olive/green and every foundation i have looks pink on me :(. i think we might have the same skintone, i might be a shade darker than you though
I am shocked.... I have the olive undertone but my skin color is darker than Alex's but I use Elf cosmetics Cashew and it matches me exactly how it matches hers .... How ??
I just found you and subscribed. I wear golden beige in wet n wild and medium olive in nyx. So I was overjoyed to find the other shades that match me. Please can you do a review on covergirl+olay ageless liquid foundation? I want to know how it does on lily skin and which shade suits you.
Hey, in your separate video review of the Catrice foundation, you used the shade Natural Beige, and the concealer shade was Camel Beige (which you didn’t like). But in this video you mention the foundation shade you swatched as Camel Beige... is that accurate?
Alex Ahhh no wonder - thank you, I had no idea. I can’t seem to find the link to that video - is it on YT or Insta? Love this video btw, all the swatches are suuuper helpful. I’m literally 80% the same shade as you, so I’m excited to try your recs! I came to your channel when I was looking for Catrice foundation reviews. :)
Alex Found and watched it, it was right after the first Catrice review video, I think I missed it because I was scrolling too quick and expected it to be higher up, lol. THANK YOU! Can I ask - if you had to choose your top one or two foundations from the ones you swatched today based on longevity + best for oily skin, which would they be? I watched your No7 foundation review too, lol, I’m on a binge now, so I’m conflicted between the Catrice and No7, and want to know your top 1-2!
Have you tried Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 6.0. I always get compliments when I use that one. I am looking for a drugstore foundation and I have used the Hard Candy before but I do not like the texture (too tacky). Does the NYX foundation that you mentioned come in a darker olive shade? I am currently tanning and would probably need something just a tad darker. Also is the NYX foundation have a sticky consistency like the Hard Candy one?
Not sticky in my opinion and I don’t know what other shades they have. Thanks for the recommendation but right now I’m no longer using liquid foundation just bare minerals because that’s all i have time for ☺️
I’m around your shade and used that one instead of soft tan, but I might just buy that shade as well. Could you do more videos like this for people in your shade range!! 💕
Lupe Arteaga i love the physicians formula bronzer in deep bronze and also the wet and wild bronzer from the duo that also has a yellow powder I think it’s called toffee.
