I think the company was sold at that time, and they went from a higher end Sephora brand to an online brand. Then it came back to drugstores. Alot of fluctuations in price.
@@barbrothers2My Sephoras here in Texas doesn’t sell ELF, only Ulta Beauty carries them, aside from Target, Walmart and other drugstores, but definitely not Sephora.
The panorama mascara does absolutely nothing for my lashes. The lash paradise is so much better for me. I recently realized that reviewers should really tell us what type of lash they have(thin, thick, short, long, straight, curled…)
I feel like brush type makes such a difference based on your eye shape/lash type too! As someone with round eyes, hooded lids, and decently long but thin and uneven (curly some places and not others) lashes, the Voluminous Million Lashes brush is my #1 holy grail for how well it fans out and separates my lashes. But I recently tried the Panorama and I LOVE the formula, so I've been using it + a clean Million Lashes brush to brush my lashes after and it works so well.
I loved Telescopic because of the long thin brush however I love Panorama , I have long lashes. If I feel a bit flush Benefit would be my go to or the Aldi dupe when I can get them
I would run out of Maybelline undereye concealer, and get a replacement. As I get older, this concealer has become too thick, and it creases badly. I have moved on to Fiera-great concealer. If anyone reading my post buys one, it is a small tube, but it lasts. Just take a very SMALL amount, and warm it between your fingers. If you don't it's like spreading cement.
@@umchileanywayssoit's gotten more expensive over time but, compared to others. It's still reasonably priced. (I'm from the US, so I'm assuming they are too.)
I haven't had one good product by them. I like my drugstores brand brow pencil now though (Kruidvat, it's a Benelux drugstore) and now I dont have to buy my Clinique brow pencil for € 25 every month cause it is so expensive
I love the Wet n Wild Breakup Proof Retractable Eyeliner. It’s hands down my favorite, over so many high end ones and it’s less than $3. Highly recommend!
There's something really important to know about the Maybelline concealer. Some people say that it's dry, and it is but if you have a good hydration in the skin, that really shouldn't be a problem. The REAL problem is the applicator, cuz when you rotate the thing for the product to come out, it leaves so much concealer in the sponge and it can create mold and bacteria that you do not want to put on your skin. The recommendation is to take off the sponge/aplicator (which is really easy), and use the product with a blending sponge or a brush. Its a good product tho, really recommended 💗
I would be careful with the elf liquid blushes though, if you have insanely cool undertones, they all pull very very orange.. Besides the Berry, and the Berry is so pigmented for fair people, you have to work it in on the back of your hand and gently apply it with a brush
I'm cool and I really love the color "pinky promise!" It's the perfect natural flush on me (it's basically the color of a minor sunburn on my skin 😅), and I have trouble with other blushes pulling too orange/bronzey on me. Though tbf I'm on the neutral side of cool, so I could see how it might not work on someone with an extremely cool undertone.
I’m not at all cool toned but they are all so pigmented I usually use it under a layer of foundation powder or thin liquid foundation. It melts into my skin super lovely that way
@@trianna2008 i dont understand people doing all of these steps just to make a specific product work. just find a product that looks good on top of your foundation
"apply to the back of your hand and gently apply it with a brush" who has time for all these extra steps when you could just get a better blush? theres like a hundred to choose from
I love essence products! Their mascara, eye liner, eye pencils, setting powder. And the price point is ❤ that mascara is my new favorite! It is truly the best! Doesn’t smudge. I do love Milani products too.
I use Essence brow gel and brow pencil. For my blonde brows, it's the perfect color and I like it better than Benefit's Gimme Brow and it's much cheaper for more product (Benefit is 0.1oz while Essence is 0.13oz). If you need to fill and have em stay put, NYX Thick It Stick It is great, but they can easily be overdone with this! Go slow! 😆
@@cassandrapsi get the pink one and miz it (probably 3-1) with the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye, and it is perfect. The latter is like clay/putty (thick, dense, pigmented) so they compliment each other nicely.
How to make up snob I haven’t bought make up in the drugstore in over 20 years😔 WET N WILD ? Never never.. An influencer Morgan Turner turned me onto a …. $6 TINTED HYDRATOR FROM WET AND WILD Absolutely stunning on my grown-up skin … It’s a serum type, medium coverage foundation in a cheap tube with a twist top, that is GORGEOUS ON THE SKIN.. Dewey without being wet. Last all day, feels like nothing, goes on like a creamy lightweight moisturizer, works fine over SPF. DID I MENTION ITS 6 DOLLARS? I’ve been using it all summer. I’m on my second tube… LADIES, IT IS THE BEST SIX DOLLARS YOU WILL EVER SPEND .. and this is coming from someone who has used only luxury brands for over a decade.. It is that good. I just love it❤
Thanks for the recommendation. Wet and Wild, if i could get the right colour it would help, makes my skin look older which not good for a 74yr old. The Tinted Hydrator sounds like a great product. I will try it.
I agree on all except that maybelline concealer. It’s never looked good on me. Not even in my twenties and I’ll turn fifty this year. However, I’m happy it works on so many others though ❤
I find that now that my skin is thinner, I have to moisturize well before using it. And nyx is better. The repair sticks on my skin work best. I have deep tear marks and circles, too. I think I know what you're talking about. It needs to go on very gently under the eyes especially. I'm still trying to master using it again. And I may try another one to see if they changed, which is very possible. But putting serum on right before concealer seems to help me. Especially something with ceramides and niacinimides. It builds a better barrier so we don't clump with mature skin. And I'm learning to use sponges and a brush. It doesn't go on well with the fingers, really. I think it's meant to be buildable. Have you found any concealer for mature skin that does work? I have crazy skin. And my mom has the driest skin I've ever ever seen. She grows skin cells so fast. Still at 66, she has to hard exfoliate her skin, or it builds up into a snake skin look. Apparently, it's common in Hispanic ancestry. And she has that gorgeous olive glow. Just haven't found any moisturizer that can help other than Vaseline bases. She had eczema as a kid, too. And I'm starting to catch up with her in certain places with dry skin, unfortunately. I may end up making my own shaving oil. I'm using coconut oil on my cuticles. Then gold bond aloe healing lotion. That and Shea help. I'm going to try using fresh aloe this week. I need to double-check how to prep it from my dermatologist. Or one of my docs. But I'm in FL and need to figure out how to care for my newly menopausal skin. And rosacea genes as well. Give me a follow. I'll be doing some very amateur videos. It's a start while I try to possibly work with a few others. I think a trio of people with mature skin will make great and super needed videos. I'm a beauty school drop out (20 hours short and my back went out. ) But I'm studying skin and how what works the best. And how to do it on budget. You can look me up on Facebook. Danielle Gager. You'll see the red hair. Or IG with this handle
Same! Im 30 years old, i dont have wrinkles yet, but tnx to using retinol for some years now, my undereyes are really dry. Any concealer of that type (liquid, quick drying, forms a film on ur skin that doesnt budge), no matter the budget, looked horrible on my undereyes. Crusty, flaky mess. Good for covering a blemish on the face maybe, but for dry areas (mine would be undereyes and around my nose) , its a hard pass.
@@Dani_sister4peacethe only concealer I can use is by Maxine’s revenge, it’s called, French Face. Indie company. I don’t set it either. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Stays emollient all day but somehow never creases.
The lightest shade of the elf blush disappears in like two seconds. I was like "Am I using this wrong?" until I saw Kelly Gooch have the same problem with ONLY that shade.
@@hazelnutspice I own the shade peach perfect! The pink ones might be longer lasting because pink pigment in general stays forever, but as far as I know, specifically peach perfect has the problem of lasting only until I'm out the door
Am I the only one that absolutely hates the maybelline concealer? Tried it a couple years ago and this year, still don’t like it. It’s not for my skin.
I wish someone would summarize the list like they do in work out videos ! Lol help your girl out not watch the video a million times , Thanks ! Let’s use the Internet wisely :)❤
Amazing list, I’m still really surprised the L’Oréal True Match Lumi liquid foundation hasn’t trended yet.. It’s the best dupe for the Armani Luminous Silk foundation but I actually prefer the L’Oréal considering it looks even more natural and still provides enough coverage 👌🏼
I have a problem with finding a match , I'm casper the ghost with neutral undertones. I can never get it quite right . 😂 I did an il Makiage test , found the same product online , perfect match first time.
Honestly skip the Maybelline concealer. It’s dry and cakey. Try Elf hydrating camp concealer. So nice on the skin and they don’t test on animals unlike Maybelline 🐰
Do you live near an Ulta? They have brands that aren't necessarily drugstore but are in the same price range and have a better shade range than regular drugstore
Me too!!! The closest I ever got was using the TV brand spray on foundation. But, since I'm over 50 now it seems impossible to make anything work even my forever favorites!!
I love the panorama mascara that actually stays on, normally i look like a panda by the end of the day but this is goood suff . The skin silk I've tried, it wears off on me in hours as I have oily skin on my nose .
Just like how mature or dry skin needs hydration. I find the age eraser and serum infused drug store concealer and base are truly AMAZING ❤. I'm 43, and I've been using the serum based for over 7 years. It's so nice
Omgosh.. I just commented before reading comments, asking how the serum foundation works on almost mature, oily skin. I'm also 43. I tend to get oily eventually thru the day, not sure your skin type, but wanted to know how it sets. Would you recommend for oily??
@@Dani_sister4peace woot woot! Thank you! I'm going to check it out. Elf just came out with a new satin.. I've never used a satin foundation either. Those two I may have to try out. Thanks again.
@Latoya- Any time. I'm happy to help if you ever need advice. I have rosacea also, so I have thin skin that is sensitive. And I still have that oily skin, too. So it can be very tricky. Plus, we were told to stay away from oils with oily skin. A great face wash is Dermalogica. I'll make a video of how it helps. And I'm looking into sunblock that doesn't break out skin. The Dermalogica daily exfoliating powder is super worth the cost. But I'm going to look for something that comes close soon. And they make a pre cleanse oil. It goes on like Olay cold cream, but a tiny bit goes a long way. I use that about twice a week. It helps get grime out of my skin. The exfoliating powder has rice based powder. So it's magical. And oatmeal. Salicylic acid from fruits, and all these soothing but clarifying ingredients. So it's great for sensitive mature skin. And so great for microexfoliating every day or however many times you feel works. And only half a tsp is needed. So I bought the refill package to save money. And just put it in an air-tight container. They seem intimidating by the cost, but they stretch so well. Tiny amounts of products work so great. I made a mistake the first time and used too much. Then, I did some research . Also, Cera Ve has a super light gel moisturizer that's great for any type of skin. No scent and no oily feeling. It's another secret out there. But do the trial of Dermalogica if you try it. That way, you don't invest too much and hate it. But it's great for keeping that barrier safe and soft without feeling gross. Honestly, I even got my 14 year old nephew using it. And he's very oily and acne prone. But that thin skin gets irritated so easily. I may use him to make some basic videos. He hates taking care of his skin 😔 but needs to learn. Playing sports and being oily is a nightmare. But definitely message me if you need help. I'll put my IG on soon.
@@Latoya- I'm definitely going to try that out. I used to hate ELF. But now I know they make amazing products. NYX as well. I love affordable super finds 😊😊😊
I just started using the L’Oréal Panorama mascara and OMG, it’s one of my top 5 favorite mascaras of all time! It doesn’t clump, goes on smoothly, made of a nice consistency of product, not so thick and gunky or watery, and extends my lashes perfectly out and evenly without having to dip back into the product over and over. One application can actually be used on both eyes, or it did for me, unless I wanted to go back and apply more. It seriously surprised me and I love it!
I was a make up artist for a long time back in the day. A lot of the products are made at the same factories under different names. Especially eyeliners made in West Germany
I mostly buy my stuff from sephora exclusively... BECAUSE THEY OFFER TESTERS!!!!! I have nothing against drugstore products but I need to see what the heck I'm spending my money on and what it looks like on my face!!
I used to work for MAC, which was sold to Estee Lauder, which owend a lot of other brands like La Mer, Original etc. Few times a year, we got employees wearhouse sales, and let me tell you, I'll never pay full price for high end products, because I know they're not worth it.
my drugstore GOAT will always be the e.l.f. hydrating core lip shine. i have it in the shade "ecstatic" and its genuinely super hydrating and such a gorgeous colour. it does have a smell to it though (i think it smells a bit like honeydew melon), so heads up if you're sensitive to that
I usually buy drug store brands. Seriously, no reason for me to go buy overly priced brands when these are so much better. I only buy for quality and function
There isn’t a high end make up product that doesn’t have an affordable rival anymore. The only thing left that I think is worth the spend are my favorite perfumes.
also REALLY good drugstore product: Matte FitMe foundation by Maybeline! 🔥 they held it down before i could afford the big girl stuff!!! i forgot what my shade was but it had the word “honey” in it… maybe golden honey or something lol
I've seen all positive reviews except for one negative. I bought shade 32 and like it. It's a light to medium coverage, so people wanting heavy coverage will struggle. I personally prefer light coverage because I only want to cover occasional red spots or short-term acne scars. It also has a minor shine that I like.
Those are great! I've actually tried the Maybelline concealer and it works ! I still buy my "high-end" because there are ingredients that I am allergic to since my 20s, and the reason I switched to Clinque 30 some years ago. 😊
Im not sure of Maybelline has changed the formula on their concealer, but it doesn't perform as good as everyone says it does. It dries out my under eyes no matter how moisturized they are at the start.
I’m also going to highly recommend the elf hydrating camo concealer and the nyx epic ink eyeliner. I’ve used them for forever. They last super long and work very well.
May I also add: Essence Stay All Day 16hour liquid foundation. Been using this for a few months and it's so good, never cakey, always looks natural no matter how you apply it - and covers so well you don't need any additional concealer. Don't know how much it costs over in the States but here in Europe you can get it for less than €5. I had tried foundations and concealer by Huda Beauty and Fenty before but had to send them all back to Sephora bc they looked a mess on my skin in comparison.
For me: High End cosmetics=Just famous brands pretending to sell makeup Drugstore=Rather expensive but okay and somewhat humble Dollar Store=Plain, normal and affordable 😅
U are right up my alley! I couldn't have picked better products seriously! The only thing I have not tried is the colourpop Stix bronzer! Which I'll be buying NOW! So since I have your taste, I beg u to try the sol body (colourpop) face and body bronzing balm! It's in the round tub like container! Omggg!!!! U won't be sorry! *if ya haven't tried already.* And they're half off right now! So only $7.50!!
I don't know what's wrong with me.I just could never get the hang of the false lashes.I have tried... My mom's has rocked them for 50 years. They just feel so heavy idfk?? So thank you for a new mascara.I'm running out to buy...
I LOOOVE the Colourpop Stix highlighter!!!! I got compliments literally EVERY single time I wore it. Every time. It goes on so nicely and it was also gorgeous
