The DruidCraft Tarot has been constantly in print since 2004, and this year saw the release of a new, deluxe edition. What's so special about this deck, and how does the new edition compare to the original. All this and more :D
I would love to hear you speak on all the in depth knowledge about this deck. I'm newly on my path cards and all other regards so I still have to learn a lot. I enjoy listening to people talk about decks more in-depth, I always learn a lot from that
I just LOVE this deck! It is my souldeck, the one I connect with the most! The artwork is stunning and I love anything that has to do with Celts, Druids, Vikings and nature :) Happy Winter Solstice!!!!
Been learning the beginnings of tarot and this deck has been amazing for me! Not to say it's a beginner deck. Lots of depth in this deck to carry on learning from. I agree the book is fab too!
This deck gives me the same sort of feeling as reading Mythago Wood; mysterious, comforting but also occasionally unsettling. Love it! Wildwood Tarot is a bit like the next step further into the unknown forest.
I agree with Juliet. A borderless edition would have been nice. I was excited to see a deluxe set but thought there might have been more than a different box and a very slight shift in colour 🙁
Sorry late comment. Thank you for a great deck review. I think in the rebirth card, the child is emerging from a passage tomb. You can also see the light box over the door where the Sun's rays shine right into the chamber once a year. I think that particular tomb is based on Newgrange here in Ireland.
I like the deeper colour saturation, is the card stock quality improved at all? I had the 2004 edition which I'd trimmed, but I sold that along with my trimmed Animal and Plant oracles, which I have replaced with pristine copies. (I lost my taste for trimmed decks a while back.) I bought the 2009 version of Druidcraft because it came in a compact box the exact size of the deck and was great for storage. When my husband showed a brief interest in tarot a few years ago, this was the deck he selected. Never use this deck anymore, but along with all my Worthington decks, it's staying in the collection, which dwindles ever smaller and smaller! :D Thanks for sharing this edition. x
I've just seen the copy I will be buying is yet another edition, " the 2019 st Martin's essentials revised edition" Wonder if there are differences to the 2017 edition

Lol the deluxe version is printed with cheaper ink, maybe printed in china or something, the tone is all wrong. Most probably the idiot printing company staff forgot to convert RGB to CMYK before printing. Then they realized..oh shit this is a huge mistake! OK how do we fix this? 100s of copies have been PRINTED! OK here is what we gonna do, we put it in a box and call it deluxe. The common people (non artists) wouldn't know anyways, and hopefully we can fool also those first time buyers. My God, we are such cons!
