Yes, definitely. Honestly i didn't know a lot about him since a short time ago but his groove is something else. I may say his one of my favorite drummers. At least his on my top ten.
Mind blowing? WTF? App ya never heard Joey Jordison play drums live. He is good for sure but mind blowing is pushing it. Drummers are a dime a dozen. I've seen 17 yr old drummers who would put this dude to shame, and I swear that on everything. I get your a fan, but don't over hype the dude!
@@TracyGunz Ah Dude! Techinque, speed and stuff is great. But the mind composing the drum parts is another thing. I saw Hundreds of GREAT drummers that aren't able to compose a functional drum line. Ray is great coz he can write music and serve the track pushing it into another level. And this is a talent you can't "buy": you have it or not. I'm sure you're one of those guys saying around RIngo Star sucks 😅
I seen him last year standing in the crowd at a Godsmack show. Nashville TN. He seen me looking, I gave a thumbs up and he smiled and gave a thumbs up back.....🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love the tastefulness that he adds to every song, utilizing every piece of his kit while not over-complicating anything. Super in-the-pocket, while creating an aesthetic at the same time. Ray fits Korn so well.
@ Leopard Cup Pup Kryky yeah I guess korn should have just stopped playing after David left right? All these dumb fans like you would bitch no matter who the drummer was after David.
Yes, he's really good playing David crations. I would like to see this guy playing Chi the way Silveria did. Ray can be fast, glamorous and cute, but the power of Korn was David Silveria, for ever
Being a Korn kid since I saw them with Metallica in 96, I love Dave. I always wanted to design my drum kit like his. Seems like when I deployed David and Head made my times darker than usual. But then Ray came in and took Korn to another dimension. The guy has me re-inspired and obviously that shows on stage and in their writing. Bravo!!
Рэй, ты просто божественен! Я тебя полюбил, больше, чем Хеда(Ну простите меня!) Ray, you are simply GOD! I loved you more than Head! (Forgive me plz, guyz)
Huh?? What you say?.. I've been around drumming quiet a bit and I can't hear any high freq's and certain sounds, but put up beside a Yamaha kit and I'll feel it..
Listening to this with my new headphones (Anker Soundcore Life Q30).. I feel the love and energy man!!!! This is the bomb!!!! That snare still sounds freaking amazing!!!!! Korn fan for life!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ray has grown on me over the years, I always thought he was an excellent drummer, just not for Korn, but after all these years he has made David’s drumming techniques his and has undoubtedly mastered them.
I'm surprised the band didn't get slowly replaced with real musicians as time went on. Like Fieldy, he's gotta go, get a bass player on Rays level. A professional.
Ese ray siempre caga las canciones clásicas, es un showman solo es baterista muy genérico para una banda de heavy metal, para el estilo de Korn siempre será David que era bestia tocando la batería que definía el sonido de la banda con su groove...PUNTO
Ill be honest...and sometimes its hard telling and/or hearing the truth. But the fact is i hated Ray when he first joined the band. Korn was my band and have been a fan since its debut self titled album. I got the Life is Peachy album the day it came out and was counting down the days until its release at that point. Shit i saw them play in a bar/club in Toronto called the government. A venue that only held less than a thousand people. So when Dave was out and Ray stepped in it pissed me off. I want my original drummer. Not some newb. Didnt like Ray for years. But after A Path to Total.. album i stopped being a hater and starter to see his diversity, skill set, and originality as a percussionist. Slowly but surely i started to take down my defensive wall i had created for bands newest member and replaced it with admiration and respect. Im glad to say, as of to date, Ray is one of my favorite drummers and i couldnt picture a better drummer for "my" band. After comparing all the Korn albums i have to say i prefer Rays take on the material over all, over Daves and i hope he never leaves the band or is ever replaced. Even if it meant having the original drummer return ( sorry Dave, if u somehow end up reading this dont hate. You still gangsta homie just Ray is tearing up ) Ray in my book is one of the dopest drummers of all time in my opinion and as far as being respected and as a mega fan of Korn , accepted as a legit member. He earned that respect and acceptance harder than any other musician joining an established and sucessful band period. Like ive said i was a fan since Korns birth and rejected Ray in the beginning but bow couldnt picture the band without him. Sorry i was so slow in coming around Ray but this is more than a band to huge number of us n had to be sure u had the skill , heart, and dedication to be accepted as a legit member. Congrats and thank you. Damn that was long winded. My bad.
Dude ..you spoke from the heart.. and its truly like so many real KORN fans felt for a long time.. im totally down with your statement... Ray is a beast.. and his position in the band is well deserved.. He brought technique , skills and a great groove to the table... korn sounds better than ever! 🤘🏻😎.. Piece out!!!!
@@maus_drummer and i agree with your statement as well. Korn is one of those rare bands that progressed , improved and matured over 2 decades. And Rays a huge part of that. All the while maintaining their original sound without having each album sound like the previous one they did. Unlike bands such as Linkin Park. Nothing against them , just an example. Im a fan of theirs too......well the first 2 albums at least. Then uuummmm.....
I remember seeing Korn for the second time I think was 2011 here in Nashville and being MIND BLOWN by "the drummer". Didn't keep up with members of all the bands I liked or any of that then.. Was with same buddy I'd seen them with the first time a few years before. In the concert was like DUDE that can't be the same guy we saw last time, they HAD to have gotten a new drummer, this MF'r is KILLING IT!! 😳🤯 Huge fan ever since and I won't miss another concert (whenever we get to see that again) when they're near. Believe I've seen them 4x now. Had tickets to see them this year buuuuuuuut you know... Definitely my favorite live show to see, I miss it so damn bad! F you COVID 🖕🖕
Metallica I watched the short RU-vid version 5 times and clicked on the longer version to watch that, twice. I still want to see you play the whole song. I think you're extraordinarily talented because of all the practice you put in. Favorite Metallica song that's a tough one to choose. (Bleeding me) I think you should check out Metallica's load album and reload. Every single song on those two albums are great songs. The song,(the outlaw torn) is a great song. It would be a great song for you to play because the drumming is right in your face extremely prevalent and fast.
It’s great to see this guy get the love and respect her deserves for what he brings to the table as a musician! His contribution to the Korn library of music and the new material is awesome. He builds off of a solid foundation from the past work and tastefully makes it his own!
Reminds me of Kieth Moon and his fanatic playing. But this is harder and much more aggressive. I could never find the energy to continue to play at this level. Damn
I'll always respect David Silveria for being one of the creators of ,IMO, one of the most innovative bands in the last 30 years. That being said, Ray is better technically and note solid. But with no David, there wouldnt be anyone there for Ray to imitate and improve upon.
