16:30 OMG this! a lot of ppl tend to get intimidated by the amount of episodes/chapters from One Piece but not a lot of them think this way. People need to realize that you don't have to get caught up immediately, the journey is an important part of the experience, which you shouldn't feel the need to rush! especially for a long running series.
You're actually spot on when it comes to Vivi. Oda did not originally plan for Mrs. Wednesday to be the princess of Alabasta, but he decided to make those two characters one and the same a little after Mrs Wednesday's introduction

That's why he was pissed when he got all the credit for beating Crocodile and saving Alabasta. 2. She was shown at the end of big arcs when she reacts to things like, the straw hats getting new bounties after Enies Lobby, Ace's death, Luffy's 3d2y message. She also shows up in some cover stories in the manga which weren't adapted in the anime. 3. Why would she know about thriller bark in the first place?
Drum Island arc is a great arc. They met Chopper and add him to the crew. Chopper has a very sad backstory. They get Nami healed. Luffy sends Wapil flying three times. Tashigi may look like and sound Kuina but she is younger than Kuina. Half of One Piece is backstories.
I know chopper is an animal, but I didn't care as much for his backstory. Not even the sakura tree scene. Tashigi i've been neutral on, but she doesn't do it for me. Fine.
in episode 102 of one piece anime, Chopper actually asks Zoro what he is supposed to do in the team, I highly recommend u watch it. if not here is what zoro says: "I have my own reasons for being here and joining the crew in the first place, it's like that for the others too, none of us have the same goals in mind as luffy does, we all basically do our own thing for our own reasons. It may seem a little weird at times, but it works for us...anyway. It can look crazy, like we have no idea what teamwork is. Especially when you look at our captain, he's a real handful. But still, what is teamwork really when you get right down to it? Is it just about protecting each other and helping each other out? I guess most people would say so, but they're just fooling themselves. I think teamwork is more than that in the end. It's about individuals taking individual risks if you ask me. We work together by working separately. You stand up to risk your own life. You do what you can the best that you can, then you turn to the others and expect the same from them. When you think about it that way, what's so wrong with everyone on the crew having their own agenda?"
If you think drum island ripping your soul out was bad, then I hope you have enough soul for the rest of the series because the back stories just get sadder. You will cry to them.
2:20 I recently rewatched the live action. Whilst I like Mackenyu's portrayal of Zoro, I distinctly remember thinking how he's not yet captured that duality of Zoro's stoicism with the goofy moments as well. His portrayal of Zoro us missing the latter so far.
Great episode! And I love the way the crew members interact... You have the opportunity to see them relaxed only at the end of a major arc, or in fillers... According to me, there are fillers that are simply wonderful... but there are others that I don't like, like those that combine other anime (One Piece and Dragon Ball I think?) but there are others that should not be missed... Such as : - goat island arc (136-138 ) - G-8 Arc ( 196-206 ) - Ocean's dream Arc (220-224) - Ice Hunter Arc (326-335) Although there are fillers in all of them, it is the logical continuation of the story... it is seriously worth watching... Especially since they are all quite interesting... And I think it details how Robin works with the crew... that is to say, a lot hints about her future development from water 7 but we can also see her personality... And the thing with Chaper entering directly into Arabastra, you know you're right... I mean, he even asks Zoro what he should do and @majRFan specified in the comment exactly what he said... Ah good. You got the not stated outloud best joke in the series, with Chopper joining the Strawhats, finally finding a family and home to belong to outside the two doctors-- "ok Doc, you've been a pirate for a week, time to engage in civil warfare, a common pirate activity" "WHAT NO LET ME GO HOME" It works as a counterbalance to the saddest backstory in One Piece.. Ok look, other people have way worse backstories, but only Chopper's gets me to cry every time I experience it, instead of just the first or second time.

For me, at much heart there is for the strawhats, they'll always be weird ass people. But that's endearing about them, they laugh when they piss enemies off even though it makes them world targets and fight among themselves for stupid shit when they're about to die. It's surreal and charming, that 's what I take from it. LA doesn't want to get too far either with that, which is missing something.

Chopper was a great addition to the crew and I enjoyed the smaller arc also. I am not surprised at all you are enjoying it and it just keeps getting better and better. I remember when I first started watching it I found myself watching episode after episode, so engrossed in the story I would lose track of time and how many episodes I watched. I do not consider knowing what a character looks like or the name of a character to be spoiler at all. That really doesn't take anything away from the story whatsoever. Unless you had no idea what anime was and never followed the medium at all it would be impossible to not know at least a little about the characters and story. It may take you sometime but every little arc and story part just adds to the richness of the story and will continue to only get better with time. I consider you quiet lucky to get to enjoy all that for the first time while the rest of us just do re-watch's and reminisce lol.

I was rewatching with a friend who is seeing for the first time, and when Robin appeared I was grinning so much! I was like: "perfection!!! Never ever being in the wrong!!!", not to say my friend thinks I love a psychopath (she just sunk the guy's boat)
Yep, she's hot.........she still was heavily a part in starting the rebellion in vivi's home. Oda just decided to throw vivi off, and just robin a main character with her misdeeds in alabasta never being brought up and no conflict with the crew with that. Oda's not a god at all, and this shows.
FYI. The anime is an adaptationas well with some differences from the manga. I was anime only (not sure which version) until about 450 to 500 episodes from where you're at now. When i transitioned and started interacting with the manga community, i was shocked to find out that Zeff ate his own leg.
To answer your question, no there is nothing to Tashigi looking like Kuina. It is completely and utterly random. The only explanation I can think of is Oda planned to do something with that but abandoned those plans. A 1,000 plus chapters in and Oda still hasn’t explained why Tashigi looks like Kuina. I wouldn’t hold out hope that that will be explained

Ayeee one piece is a Goated anime and overlord I hate to admit but it’s dry there’s no news or anything 😢 but all we can do is wait and watch other anime 💀
I know fans want the strawhats to show off their strength, but it was fun to see them compete in this game with tons of gags. Foxy isn't the greatest, but they play off how much of a joke yet successful this guy is by giving him a fragile ego.
