Your conducting, cues, and cut offs were all so amazing!! I just had my drum major audition and I found out I got the position and seeing this makes me so happy that I've decided to do this. Wonderful job and thank you for being so inspiring!! I really hope this gets more views so I'll definitely be sharing this on tumblr!!
I was the drum major for my 2017 fieldshow as a junior, and I learned a crap ton of nuances from your conducting (like when you spread your feet for musical changes). I'll be the drum major again later this fall, and I'm looking forward to adding so much more of your techniques and cues to my conducting! I want to get the Best Drum Major award at ACCs this year, and I think I can totally do that since I got 3rd last year. (Just finished my 4th AP exam today lol. Back on the band grind)
I have never seen a conducting style like this before where I live, but I I love it! You're so passionate with your conducting and show a high level of connection with your band. Amazing. :)
Wow I'm amazed this doesn't have more views. You sir are an amazing drum major. Kudos! You make me even more excited to audition for drum major at my school!
I saw this on tumblr and I can't get enough of your conducting. Trying out for drum major tomorrow and this is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing this video.
I'm so inspired by this my ultimate goal in life is to become a drum major and I only have 1 more years until I can audition but I will be sharing this with so many people you are a real drum major this is how all drum major should conduct you put so emotion and this is the way to do so!
I am/was (season recently ended) drum major for the 2018 season at my high school; I am a sophomore. You are phenomenal. Your cues and style are so graceful, yet very clear. And I see a bit of Dean Patterson style in that 5/4 😆 I hope whatever you have gone off to do since this video you have succeeded, and I wish you the best of luck in any of your future music endeavors. You are incredible!
I love your conducting style. It's very expressive and helped me think of some questions and things I could think about. Thank you so much for posting this, I have drum major auditions soon so I'm trying to soak up everything I can.
Oh wow! Your conducting is really amazing. I hope you don't mind me borrowing a couple ideas for my drum major audition in a couple months. Good job!!!
Hey ! I absolutely loved watching this video. Your cues and expressions are phenomenal. Is there any possible way to get a score to any of these pieces ? Thank you so much !!
@@JWaitselI'm trying to teach my 14 year old conducting so he can audition for Drum Major in the spring. Could you point me to more videos of you conducting? There's soooo much more to teach him... and he could learn so much from watching videos of you. Thanks in advance!
Chad, Sorry I don't really have any other videos of me conducting. This was my senior year of high school and since then I've not done much conducting.
+jovanosborne081999 Hey man. The opener was in 5/4 except for 4 bars of 3. The second movement is in 2 (but I changed some of it to 4 for phrasing purposes) The third movement began in 4/4 and then went into 3/4 and then back and forth between 3 and 4 during the firebird segment.
