I went to high school with Carl, he was two years ahead of me. We shared a drum teacher, but he was in a different category. We also shared timpani duties, which could be notice in his muffling of the tom in this video. He's a fabulous (and humble) drummer who loves sharing his talent.

Reminds me of joe morello. Loved the tuning of the toms. Jaw dropped when he turned on snares on large floor Tom. What! Funny how one can do a tasty solo and not sweat,

That is cool and how I like to drum. That said because I play similarly I enjoyed watching and listening but was not overly impressed since if I can play it, it usually does not blow me away and make me go "WOW!" But I do love that kind of tasteful melodic drumming.

He plays music on the drums rather than play a "solo" on the drums. He has amazing technical skills but seemed to focus on musically rather than technical prowess. Thanks for sharing!
