This movie was an insult to the first one. They couldn’t have at least tried to make it sound like the band was playing for real? You can obvious tell the sound came straight from the computer. Don’t get me started on the directing of the band directors. The whole movie is a cringe
D WILL don’t bother watching this one. I can’t even describe how terrible it is. Just a whole bunch of nonsense. If you were in a real hbcu marching band you would be offended
I think the issue was they never tried for a sequel in its era. Instead they picked it up during this era knowing damn well things the direction and way of production would be different
The only thing that I wished would've happened is that they had Dani interact with Devon with him saying to her: I feel you, I can level with you, I've been in your Shoes and I let my ego get in the way when I went to A&T 12 years ago. Also I wonder if they decide to do a 3rd Drumline Movie with Dani becoming a Section Leader ?
@@ryderbenson8472 i meant when dani was going to a and t. Devon was under utilized in this movie and that i agree with your idea of devon and dani interacting whether it be in a pep talk or a drum battle
I love watching Drumline and Drumline a new beat because these 2 movies has inspired me to learn how to play the drums I. am serious about this God Bless You Guys And Many Blessings to you guys as well Love Marquis Robertson
They should’ve just left it at the first movie. Everything don’t need a sequel 🤦🏽♂️ the first one was waaaay better music was, plot, and ending battle.
@@GodzWarriah N IF U PLAY BASS DRUM U SHOULD KNOW HOW HARD IT IS BECAUSE IF ANYONE GETS LOST THEY HAVE TO GO OFF YOUR BEAT, I THINK THEY DID PERFECT, IF U DON'T LIKE THE MOVIE WELL THTS YO DAMN OPINION!!!! BUT GUESS WHT NOBODY FCKING ASK Y'ALL
Zaria Dotson I don’t think you understood a single part of the comment. Nobody has anything against a female being in the drumline, and that point wasn’t even mentioned at all. The dislike of the movie comes from the fact that there is obviously no playing in this movie at all, which is the complete opposite of the first movie. You heard mistakes and raw playing in the first movie which gave it that feeling when you watched it. If you just watch, there is basically no real playing in this video which is why people dislike it. You are actually upset for no reason whatsoever, other than the fact that someone has a different opinion than you on a low quality movie.
Zaria Dotson And nObOdY fucking asked your deranged, feminist headass to cry and lose your shit ‘cause of our opinions. No one give a damn if you the only girl. Want a cookie or something?
9:26 i conducted a experiment back in 2018 about how well they were able to make such a beautiful and loud sound with the cymbals and i realized it was the work of the movie, cymbals have quite some weight and couldn’t be flailed with such ease unless they actually practiced but i showed the drumlines cymbal leader and he said it probably was because of the movie that helped make such a sound
I like it... But not cause its good. More just supporting black actors. But yea bro this joint sucked. The music was good tho. There are some fun moments
I watched the first one when i was 10 years old and i still rewatch it and im 17 now. 🌚And then i noticed their was a 2nd one, so i watched it. Now i see this scene and was disappointed ASF bcs it made me remember this entire movie. They made sure they had a "New Beat" for real 💀
This one did have more strory drama line about building character and a chance for women. The first one had more just making it in College and a fair shot on the drumline like you can come from Humble beginnings and make it, really finding your calling. The second movie was more for a new generation like the sound should be good we really don’t need lights and paint for a drum off to be 🔥!!! Overall the movie was still nice to watch!
I'm not going to compare it to the first one because there is no comparison. You could definitely tell that they didn't put much effort into trying to make this one as good as the first. It was strictly a money grab by using the name Drumline. They knew people would look at it just to see a sequel. The music clearly sounded like a recorded session. And the stick work... man oh man. You could clearly see that some of the "actors" weren't even hitting the actual drum. As far as the plot... you be the judge.
MÉ All Day: Middle School - Cheerleader in State Competitions; Cardinal Spellman High School - Marching Band (I wasn't high yellow enuff for their Stage Plays nor to become a Cheerleader, even doe Evelyn Robinson-Gleason was Myyy Coach at St. Joseph's and I knew ALL the CHEERS); John F. I must admit I’m an old school girl and I love the music but some things you should leave it where it’s at. Orlando (Dr. Lee) will always be that man I fear when it comes to ONE BAND ONE SOUND type of guy. The other universities brought the energy and the fire that was meant in Drumline. I feel like the final battle in the first one will FOREVER BE the best ending for all music movies when it comes to drumming. This second movie wasn’t needed.
@@Aaron-os8mj I’m telling you! For it to be epic it needs to be chemistry and unity with all musicians. Not bc you’re acting but because you feel the music and the music feels you.
And there’s no main characters here. Sure Leonard is reprising his role as Sean but we fell in love with the movie because it wasn’t just the conductor and his efforts. It was the conductor and the elements that helped carry his efforts
Why did they jump the gun with this movie. The boy was a freshman. They should have kelp Nick cannon in school for awhile. I cannot get jiggy with this shit.
Couple things I wish 1) they perform inside the stadium from the first movie to make the battle more better and dramatic . 2) didn’t like how you can hear cheering and talking in between each battle
Its like at work even with MARCHING BAND ONE BAND ONE SOUND!!! THE TEAM COMES FIRST ALWAYS YOU CAN BE THE RINGER BUT IF THE WHOLE TEAM ISNT WITH YOU YOU CANT DO SQUAT BUT SOMETIMES THAT RINGER JUST MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL TO WHERE IF THAT PERSON LEAVES EVERYTHING GOES DOWN!!! SOME PEOPLE SOMETIMES JUST HAVE THE (IT) FACTOR THEY CAN SEE HOW THINGS CAN IMPROVE AND THINGS YOU NOTICE GET BETTER IT TAKES TIME IT WILL GET TIRING BUT IT JUST KEEPS GOING UP!!!
ALSO YOU HAVE TO BE (ORIGINAL, CREATIVE, and ALERT) those three FACTORS any business can make a lot of money that's why being different coming up with IDEAS for some people it just sometimes comes naturally!!!
SAME FOR SPORTS YOU CAN BE THE RINGER ALL YOU WANT IF THE TEAM MANAGEMENT AND FANS ARENT WITH YOU YOU CANT DO CRAP BUT HAVE ALL OF THEM WITH YOU YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE!!!
IT'S A MOVIE FOR A REASON, GOTDAMN Y'ALL CAN'T JUST BE HAPPY THAT THEY WON!!! Y'ALL GOTTA INSULT SHIT, N IT'S ONLY THE MEN COMPLAINING, THE MOVIE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT A GIRL MAKING IT AS A DRUMMER BECAUSE IT'S WHAT SHE LOVES TO DO EVEN THO MOST PPL THINK IT'S FOR BOYS!!! I PLAY THE DRUMS MYSELF N THIS MOVIE JUST HELPED ME UNDERSTAND BETTER
@@zariadotson_school stfu with your feminist head ass no one gives a shit. Your points are invalid because no one was saying it wasn't about a female drummer. Not a one "periodt"
When I saw this pop up on my screen, i thought it was a joke or parody of sort or a fan's tributeto the original movie. However, after reading some of the comments, I realized it was really a scene from an actual movie. Wow, this was bad. I imagine the whole movie was worse.
I was actually pissed when I first watched this movie. The original is 10x better. And the thing about the original one is that they used a real college(Morris Brown was open at the time) and Atlanta A&T was based on a HS called Southwest Dekalb(the director of the original movie also made a tv show called Drumline:SWD) and they used real band members from colleges and local high schools. The music they actually played was real,it captured what life in a band is really like. But the sequel was absolutely horrible,I was offended since I’ve marched in a band before.
