I will use this top comment to say that people need to chill out with the hate they have on this kid. He is talented as fuck and you guys are focusing on overplaying? 90% of the people hating probably can’t even play a simple nirvana song lol
I hope you're a drummer too, you'd understand all the criticism. He was having fun but a lot of unnecessary fills and the timing was off. I understand it was about him so you can go all out but...this was a bit much.
Jason Carson Yup I’m a drummer too and again, he was having some fun! He’s already talented there’s no debate. He has 45k subscribers and a video with over a million views. Do we always expect quality content from who we consider to be “great” or “good” at their craft? Yes, but I could also argue that displaying imperfection and having fun and publicly practicing is also entertaining and “ok”. No harm in it. However if he was trash 🗑 in all his other content or if he was this garbage “wanna-be” drummer then this would be unacceptable. But he isn’t. He was just having fun and decided to still post it. Whatever his reason put some respect on his name and keep it moving.
Why do you confuse criticism with negativity? He's good, but he can do so much better. He's off beat at times and he's chopping entirely too much. How is that being negative? And how is playing the drums at a building entrance being positive?
@@AllAmericanGuy01 I'm not confused. He's playing what feels good and sounds good to his ears. Sometimes criticism is not needed. And this one of those times... I don't understand people, because when someone is doing bad you criticize when they are doing good you criticize! Stop telling people what they could be doing better and focus on what we could be doing better in our own lives.
@@OneKENDRA35 Nobody is criticizing his life though. People are simply saying he can improve and it is true, we all have room for improvement. I take it you don't take criticism well?
@@AllAmericanGuy01 and you say I'm confused.. at first it was me confusing criticism for negativity, and now your simply saying he can improve? It's all the same to me. Lol. It is what it is. Let ppl do them
Vista my channel boss savage cool dude ya death savage tube I did my own old town road dance vid high school edition 👉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UyUEbhkGLfg.html it's fire !
@@TronciM not that I have to explain myself. Color "doesn't "matter to me, but the reality is that there is negative stigma placed on black males and people of color in this society. It's wonderful to see a young " black" man do something opposite of what is portrayed in this society! Proud of him and others like him doing their best to be positive and productive. No apologies here.
People are not criticising him because he is black but only on his drumming ability and skill level. That is quite the opposite of racism if you judge everyone the same by ability. If a white guy had deficiencies they would point out the same things, no difference. Judging by ability has nothing to do with race and never will. Nobody was saying he had no ability or that he shouldn't be playing drums. Constructive criticism is meant to help someone to get better regardless of race. This everything being racist stuff is just way out of control and quite frankly a lie.
That's true what u said.. cuz I notice alot of African American kids with natural rythem. Or African American drummers period Not many white kids. So its deff in the DNA. "Rodney Holmes" is one of my favorite. Drummers. I ain't black but my grandfather is half african..from Puerto Rico and I've always had natural rythem since I came out the whomb, way more natural than my mostly white freinds . Its deff in the DNA. Amazing
To all the complaints about this video. He is playing these drums, how we should live our life, overlove, overhug, be over kind, overgracious, overjoyed because of HIS Love. And most of all he played these drums like it was his last time! How many of us have lived with no fear! For He has not given us the spirit of fear but of Love and a Sound Mind! Live Life for Him like it's your Last!!!!!
*my comment was a reply to all the people bitchin in the comment section saying he is overplaying for no reason 😂 I dont understand some of your replies*
Tyrese Davis it’s not hating. If he laid down a groove especially on such a groove based song, instead of chopping out every 4 bars, it’d get more looks. People now adays see too much of crazy chops getting thrown around instead of a pocket groove being laid to the bone and then adding the flavor that’s the crazy chops. I don’t see it as hating I see it as constructive criticism. The video is already posted, so what people comment now won’t really matter but they can leave their comments. Not taking away from his playing, he’s obviously a good player!
I see both points, but you're speaking from a musician standpoint. I personally enjoy the pocket more than the chops, but to a normal person on the street like all the bystanders, chops is what attracts them. they don't understand the musicality of a solid groove. I doubt they could tell you what "pocket" or "chops" are. In the case for this dude personally, he needs to practice his pocket and his chops before having this kind of public performance. You can have chops, but they still have to make sense for the song cause at 2:10 and the outro, & a couple other places, chops or not, gig or on the street, that was a bit rough to watch as a musician. Dude is NICE, can't take that away from him at all cause i know i couldn't do half of that, but some of these fills ain't it.
Eian Jackson chops mean nothing if you forget to play the song. Some people forget that great drummers are musical not overkill. Too much salt ruins the meat.
Don’t worry bout all the over playing comments I’m aware u already know wat ur doing and it’s a track u not playing with other people u can do watever u want I personally enjoyed it keep up the good work sound great and looks like u having fun
Damn downer I don't see you doing what he is doing in the video. He's out in public and enjoy what he loves to do! Even when I was his age I couldn't do the things this kid can do. He's good to our eyes even if he messes up. it doesn't matter he enjoys playing now get over it!
I can't play drums worth a shit but they're my favorite instrument. This kid's got talent. You might want to check out the Pocket Queen as well. She's a prodigy.
Talented musician but the musician community has spoken. Dynamics, lil bruh. This is the equivalent to someone over singing the national anthem. No hate. Your elders are telling you right. If he plays like that over a track, it shows he has yet to receive the gospel of the pocket. Keep rolling fam. We’ve all heard much worse.
@@jaylenwalker5445 YES at this level of possossing a GREAT SKILL in respect to what a performing artist does quite naturally. I am not referring to placing the youngster on the level of necessarily having some sort of authoritative or superior skill set to teach over others as if he's a highly advanced martial arts instructor. This kid is truly gifted with an extraordinary potential purely in music according to the way he displays his talent.
I'm not sure if you're a fan of metal (specifically Deathcore) but with those chops, you definitely should try some metal drumming! It would be sick to see you try and tackle some
I think the point of this video was for the drummer to show off.. I would hope that if he were in a band situation he would play more tasteful.. placement is everything in music..
Jamal T don’t make excuses for bad playing he’s out in public performing for the crowd. If he really wanted to show off he would’ve played it where people could enjoy it. It’s all love though. He plays like this all the time
Jamal T Well you help that he would be more tasteful but if you watched any of his other videos you would’ve noticed that he does the same shit every time too much playing and not on time
