Im actually really excited to try it! Lactic acid at 10% is perfect for me & my sensitive/ dry skin. But unfortunately there's not a lot of them out there without Fragrance/Essential Oils! I like the Ordinary 10% lactic but it always leaves a sticky residue so maybe thats a good alternative!

I don't know if this is just me but it is one thing to pay Ordinary / Inkey List prices and having to layer/mix products to get some beneficial ingredients. But what is the point of buying high-end products if we have to end up doing the layering business
@13bunnylove13
@13bunnylove13 3 года назад
It's fun, easy and quick? There are no all in one products, luxury or not. At least one DE product replaces 3 of my ordinary ones, so still faster with the luxury of not having to think much about what you are mixing. For the ordinary, I straight up had to make myself a skin care chart of what I can and can't mix. I'm defending them, but I don't actually care for their products regardless due to previous scandals and high price tags, prefer the ordinary/inky list.

So... now it's OK to mix peptides with direct acids in a formula? I'm confused.
@artgirllovespaint5509
@artgirllovespaint5509 3 года назад
I'd like to try a sample or a mini out of curiosity, but I'm not rushing out to get the full-size. Like you said, there are so many good lactic acids out there already. The Ordinary Lactic Acid cost me less than $10 plus one of their peptide serums $10-20, versus the DE which is priced at $108 Canadian dollars! Has DE jumped the shark? I think so. Maybe you can do a brand overview sometime exploring good and bad products and their controversies?
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 3 года назад
I cannot afford to get hooked on another crazy expensive product so I was okay not falling in love with this one. I love The Ordinary's Lactic Acid Serum- and I love that they have two different strengths. I think they probably have jumped the shark- since they got bought by Shiseido they have been releasing new products non-stop.

I have non-product related question(s), if you have the time! As someone who shops a lot of products, do you have a preferred retailer? Is there one that you think has the best rewards? Or do you think you find better sales directly from a companies website? It seems like sales happen so often, but is there a particular one in the year to look out for?
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 3 года назад
To be honest, I just keep my eye out for wherever has the best GWP's, current sales, and cashback. Between those three things I can usually make a quick decision about where to buy from, but I don't really have much loyalty to any specific store. Whenever possible I like to support smaller companies and websites because they generally have better customer service (like Beautylish.com and beautybay). I try to avoid sites owned by The Hut Group because they have the worst customer service hands down. The Hut Group owns Skinstore, lookfantastic, and dermstore. Otherwise that's about it, hope that helped a bit!

I had no idea they were coming out with this! I’m a little intrigued but I have sooo many exfoliants already. I have to say, about a year and a half to two years ago I was so excited about Drunk Elephant and have tried almost everything from them, but at this point I’m kinda over it. The biggest problem for me is that I absolutely love their moisturizers and I haven’t been able to find dupes that I like as much.
@NOBSBeauty

It really seems like every single product they make is totally geared towards dry, non acne prone, sensitive skin. I think my favorite dupe is the Acure Radically Rejuvenating Whipped Cream. Texture of the Lala Cream but ingredients similar to the protini. If you haven't tried it yet I'd highly recommended it. 😉

@NOBSBeauty

To be honest, I would give it a try if it didn't contain Fragrance as well as GARDENIA FLORIDA FRUIT EXTRACT, LIMONENE, GERANIOL, CITRONELLOL, LINALOOL. I just prefer my exfoliants especially to be fragrance free because of the increased risk of irritation and sensitivity. Although the list of exfoliants in this looks pretty good!

Their chemists did the work for us...so that we can mix it. That's what's incredible about drunk elephant. And if the only thing wrong with drunk elephant is how often (which was when they first came out) they were able to respond to Comments on instagram....I believe we should pay more attention to their products and how it is on our skin then gossip. Drunk elephant is an amazing company. Their products have changed my skin. And trending gossip columns won't change the efficacy.

Hi Sarah we're talking about LYE - no wonder you were peeling/flaking lol. I don't need lye on my face - especially in greater quantity than the beneficial ingredients. Lye is used to dissolve flesh (obviously in high concentrations), but I don't want it on my rosacea/eczema prone reactive skin. Yet another reason to avoid DE products. Oh dear. I just recently tried the PC calm 1% bha which gave a decent tingle on my skin, but thankfully no real irritation. I can't imagine using this DE offering. My skin isn't overly fond of lactic acid (although I prefer it to glycolic), instead preferring mandelic acid or PHA. BHA I can use on the centre panel of the face sparingly and occasionally eg once a week. I think I'll give it a big miss lol, but I hope your skin acclimates after spending the money on it. Best wishes.

Hmm you already started the video by being biased, try the product first for a few months before being negative 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think drunk elephant has some of the best products available, from the formulation stand point as well as the feel of the products are results that you get. The protini for example is the only moisturiser with so many growth factors, peptides and amino acids and that price tag, it’s actually affordable for what you get especially if you compare it to similar products. Now, growth factor serums are expensive, so I can’t wait to try this one! Also you’re not playing chemist, drunk elephant products are FORMULATED to work together, they never recommend mixing other brands.

ut drunk elephant formulates it's products in a way that enables mixing without causing any disruptions to the active ingredients. Nothing is "diluted" and therefore can be mixed, as long as it is mixed very well. You can't do this with other brands. The way sunscreen works should not be affected because it's a physical suncreen that uses minerals to act as a physical lock to deflect the sun, so mixing it shouldn't be an issue if done so uniformly, no? The products sink in while the minerals stay on the skin surface. Different story if it was a chemical sunblock, but that's what DE does, they only add things to their collection if ok to use with other products. It's how they get you to buy more products from their line though.
