TSA can deny you access to the terminal for being intoxicated, airlines can deny you boarding for pretty much any reason (aside from discrimination) since they’re a business. But the industry secret is that the gate agent really doesn’t want to sit there and have to hear you yell at them and be pissed at them for missing a flight, so they hope you’ll fall asleep on the plane and become the next airport/gate agent’s problem:)

Maybe no bars in airports would help. Some people get super nervous about flying, and they think getting drunk will help.

​@CS-uc2oh I've thought about this so hard, and I think what's going on is passengers drinking on top of taking medication or smoking pot. So many people, especially post-quarantinue, have very high alcohol tolerances, and with the amount of time between flights varying so greatly, it puts bars in the awkward position of determining when someone has had enough while taking alcohol withdrawals into consideration. If the passenger has medication or pot on them, it's a very easy deflection for airlines and bars to deny responsibility since they cannot be held legally responsible for someone taking more than alcohol. That's not to say these passengers shouldn't be held responsible for getting that wasted and that bars shouldn't be punished for getting passengers that wasted, I'm merely speculating as to how and why airlines and bars aren't held responsible for the passenger's intoxication in a lot of these airport instances.

Rinse & repeat until hopefully one day she really wants to get sober. Alcoholics are like (& often are) domestic violence perpetrators. There’s frequently a “sorry” phase, then a honeymoon phase where they try to make it up to everyone & stay off alcohol. It's hard to say how she'll react to the aftermath of this. My guess is she won't feel shame, but just humiliation and play the victim. If she has a malignant narcissism she won't be able to take responsibility for anything troubling that she does. To be able to do that would be to grapple with a lot of underlying self hate and self contempt. For some people that is too scary to look at, ever. This is not a political statement, but a prime example in our day is Donald Trump. It's a psychological portrait: someone with clear malignant narcissism, who could never admit wrongdoing. Impossible for him. Any flaw pointed out and he's being attacked as a victim. Not fair to point out flaws.

This is exactly what I've been saying. I know some people have no shame at all, but for a lot of people who act like this, there absolutely would be some level of shame. Also, shame is a big factor that they use in Japan to keep people from acting this way, and it's been proven to work.

I saw a video with something similar where the person was violent but was charged as resisting without violence and it made no sense to me. I think maybe they’ll say without violence if they are able to cuff them without any violence and then the kicking would be battery on a Leo? Not sure if that is the actual reason or not but that’s the only thing I could think of lol. Also the officer says he’s going to give her a resisting charge at the point where she’s kicking so idk maybe they’re trying to give her a break?

They have to make a living too, and if someone has the money to buy another drink, 95% of bartenders are going to sell them that drink, especially if they’re getting tipped well. It’s also difficult to prosecute bars for over serving customers, as the bar staff could just say they didn’t show signs of intoxication, someone else bought the drinks for them, etc.

Joking aside, I do wonder if 'airport chaplains' could become a much more useful thing again? Something else: MAYBE just maybe, if they see a Priest/Pastor a cross, a picture of Jesus then MAYBE they just get enough of a 'Check' on guzzling that 5th Vodka AND even if they do, MAYBE they could tone down the 'murder thug garbage talk' language and MAYBE just pull back a little on the violent crotch kicks on some cop just doing their job. Whenever I am at an airport, I always see nuns, priests and missionaries boarding planes or on their way to check in, I'm pretty sure if they were announced at the airport, some would certainly show up...
