Dry Shampoo: the product you NEED to start using (here’s how) 

Hi Luca. Batiste products were recalled in Canada due to high concentrations of a cancer-causing agent (benzene). Benzene has been linked to acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), multiple myeloma, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and I would caution everyone against using benzene-containing products. (Certain spray sunscreens were recalled for the same reason too). There are non-benzene containing dry shampoos though! I would recommend going with those products instead.

I have horrible dandruff, and I have naturally curly hair that I straighten. I don’t wash my hair every day because it comes out frizzy and wiry no matter how much conditioner I use and it takes about a day to get it the way I want it, so keeping it dandruff free AND looking the way I like is tough. Tried dry shampoo today. Definitely helps.

I use dry shampoo but I also have used gold bond body powder. I prinkle a little bit into my hair and very thoroughly try to massage it in (if not you gonna have some patches of whitish type of hair). Anyways it works just as well if not better than hair shampoo for me. I think here where I am in the states batiste is like at least 3 or 4 dollars. I grab a bottle of gold bond body powder and it will last you minimum 6 months depending on how often you use it. Although be careful because it isn't as controlled as dry shampoo where you can actually spray it. It probably isn't good to inhale any of the powder or get it in your eyes.

Careful though. Dry shampoo is decent for oily scalps and those who do not have dry scalp and dry hair. When you use dry shampoo yet to avoid getting it on your scalp because it can clog your pores and it can hella dry your scalp

Please don't overuse dry shampoo. I started using it religiously 3 years ago for all the reasons you mentioned, and I now have about 50 percent of my hair left. I have zero history of hair loss in my family. My grandfathers on both sides of the family have full heads of hair. I'm now on minox and finasteride, but I might not see the hairs I killed come back. Dry shampoo causes buildup on your scalp that can irritate the follicles or keep them from getting the nutrients they need. And over time, a longer period of time, it will kill your hair follicles. Try a volumizing shampoo or some other way to style your hair. In my experience, dry shampoo hasn't been worth it. You also mentioned using it so that you can wash your hair less, or you wash it out the next day. I highly recommend washing it out as soon as possible. Even if it's just a rinse. The longer you leave dry shampoo on your scalp, the more damage you're potentially doing.

I was stuck out of town and didn't want to rent a hotel but my hair produces a ton of oil and it's extremely uncomfortable. I didn't know dry shampoo even existed. Hopefully it will work. Also I'm trying to grow my hair long too but it's so oily I have to wash every single morning so maybe this can let me skip a day, I sure hope so.

"Wash hair everyday" if you work in a bakery or other sweaty jobs maybe.....you should watch all the dried powder from that stuff on your clothes .You might as well rub talcum powder in your hair....Only for those who don't mind itchy scalps.

Would this help for someone that suffers with dry&frizzy hair/scalp? It seems like it would exasperate that issue.

Hey, what about using a dry shampoo on curly/wavy hair? So are mine, they're also quite thin, besides I keep using Minoxidil which kinda glues them. So usually I prefer not to comb my hair except when washing it with conditioner. Otherwise it starts looking like a broom or a haystack. Anyway, I was regularly using dry shampoo when I had my hairdo shorter. This is a great and useful thing.

does it wokr when you have procuts in your hair? like if I apply clay in my hair monday, can I jsut apply dry shampoo on tuesday and go on my day?
