You could use the Crucible as a `Toy Hauler` for your race ship. That way you can repair it at the track pit stop style. It could also double as a business by parking it at a race track to offer repairs to banged up ships from races for profit.

I have one of these and I cannot wait for this guy to be in the game. It is also due for a reconcept and will grow in size by quite a bit.

I picked up a Crucible at the last IAE. Looking forward to it arriving in my fleet one day! I wonder if it could be useful as a carrier for a number of little Mirai Fury fighters as I imagine you could fit a plenty of them under the shell.

As someone who was part of a damage control group on a carrier, I too appreciate the gameplay that is possible with this ship and look forward to seeing the possibilities that it opens up in the game.

Everyone else was snapping up capital ships when this ship went up on concept sale 9 years ago. So I snapped one up and have no regrets in backing it. Can't wait for this ship to be employable in the PU. Since most of my main org mates own some kind of a capital ship, I figured I collect all the logistics, gathering and servicing ships to keep their capital ships in peak condition. Expect this ship to grow 1/3 in size and volume given how most of the ships it was designed to accommodate internally have also grown in size since their conception.

Mobile rest stop? I’ll have snacks, food, and drinks on board along with some meds. That sounds like a chill time to me.

Such immaculate timing. I was just in the works of upgrading my Vulcan to a Crucible.

i too am one of the people that are salvage/repair/engineer focused. I have a nearly complete crucible ccu in my hangar , starting with the vulcan as I expect we will see it in some form before the crucible. I expect the crucible will have to grow some, probably not as much as some might think, but I would be overjoyed if it'll fit a vulture or prospector in the scarab, for material gathering when not 'working'. From what little info we actually have, i expect for large fleet/org operations the crucible will be invaluable. I also see with more systems coming online (like pyro) that it'll be lucrative for crucible owners too, in a system like pyro, lawfull player or not, pissing off the mechanic is a terrible idea :D

Great timing I was just rebuilding my fleet from scratch to fit all the current anvil ships.

I definitely wanted a "repair ship" in my fleet, but I opted for the Vulcan, mostly because of its smaller crew capacity (1-3). Although I've had many moments I was in the brink of buying myself one of these and think it'll still be a great ship one day, I try to remain realistic to the crew size I can (mostly) trust (aka friends)

I can't wait for this ship because it will be a license to print money in a lot of places. Camp out in systems where a lot of new players will be and repair them when they inevitably get into trouble. Easy money

The Crucible is one of the ships I wait eagerly. Hopefully we get more than the tier 0 repair beam when it comes out. The Vulcan was supposed to be the roadside assistance vehicle that does a patch job so a damaged ship can limp back to proper facilities where the Crucible could do pretty much any repairs on spot provided it has the right materials.

As a derelict version grounded version, I see a Crucible being a good stand in for a frontier 'blacksmith' style shop. Perhaps operating as an economic hub for a small settlement or outlaw towns. For a player these would be a good source of basic repairs, salvaged components, rumors, local quests, and so on.

The Crucible is an interesting ship, the design is very unique and I will be happy to have my ship repaired on one in the game one day.

Crucible, mi amore. Here's hoping it's versatility remains it's strength. Being able to really lean into engineering gameplay on a deeper level. Looking forward to what certainly must be a ship planned before 1.0. Almost reconcepted last year.

I have this ship and the Vulcan as well most of all the industrial ships and cargo,I can't wait for it to be introduced,I can easily see the use here, instead of salvage to break a ship down to harvest its raw materials you save it from destruction and utilize what's already been constructed from raw materials and bring it in and repair it or repair it on site and sell as a like new or used to a main ship seller or the sell it yourself with the ship possibly having many upgraded components and custom paint skins and this would increase its value not to mention the payout for this work, It could be huge compared to the price tag of the new ships in game and you might be able to sell to other players via a merchantman or a shipyard base that you built like a car dealership and your profits would be direct into your account and players could save a few credits in the process.I am a big fan of all things to make the system a working living breathing game and it is only logical that every working ship in Star Citizen would contribute to this economy from ships to settlement bases to space stations and moon bases mines and refineries as well as material manufacturing. It could be in the form of you would repair it but you need the materials and components so you buy raw materials and components from others hauling or salvaging what you need so everyone wins very cool, even if it's just another place to sell salvage material or components from salvaged ships instead of getting next to nothing for the components and weapons now you can make a decent paycheck for your efforts and now you have a discount components sale as well as weapons. As always great job and thank you for the input and background about the history in the navy.

Question. I remember awhile back either reading or watching videos about derelict ships we can come across when exploring. One of which was the Bengal. If the Crucible can bring derelict ships back to operation, would it also work for capital ships too, or would a larger one be needed? Mind you I have the largest ships in mind for this question. Just a thought to think about.

I think this mobile repair ship is going to see a really big reconceptualization its going to go really big if its going to service the bigger ships as a scaffolding type repair ship with drones, this is something you keep out of the way and not something you fly looking for ships to fix

The Crucible will be one of the most required ships in the game, especially as we get further into the verse a repair facility will be invaluable. Also as far as salvage is concerned it makes sense to repair an abandoned vehicle to resell it on the market rather than breaking it down for material resale Also it seems as a captain of a repair ship you may find a much easier passage through hostile pirate territory it you offer your services as a neutral party. Or if you have an outpost of your own and have this ship in your fleet you will be able to maintain your ships in excellent condition. These are just some of the possibilities available as an owner of the Crucible. Cant wait for mine to be flyable!!

You'd probably park this well away from the battle, and tow damaged ships to you, and those that can't be towed, until after the battle.

Seems like a useful and relatively harmless utility based ship. So, how many Nova tanks and Centurions can you park on it😈? Asking for a friend.

In a battle the crucible would not be in combat. Not even the middle front. It would be a retreat support as in those that need to flee from battle back to the safety/control zone of the supporting fleet. It is too big of an asset to have in any ation zone and would be a blatant liability.
