Wow! Who would have thought that drywall tape would make such beautiful backgrounds for cards! I think it's time for me to raid hubby's tool box.😉 Love this idea! 😍 Thank you!👍
When outlining with the black marker, try it with the back of the card facing up. That way, if one slips, it's likely to mark on the plain side that you glue down, rather than over the work you did for the front. 😀
These are so darn cute! Who woulda' thought drywall tape would create such a unique and fun look for cards?!!! I love these! Thanks for sharing the idea! Drywall tape (6") is going on the shopping list (lol)!!!
I love the binder idea to keep sentiments in!! I always loose mine as I put them in envelopes , this would be soooo much easier for absent minded me..lol..love the card!
Thanks Linda - I've been hearing about baggies, envelopes, etc. And that system wouldn't work for me either. If I can't find it easily I might as well find the stamp and make one on the spot. This notebook and baseball card system works great for me!
Thank you for all the new design cards. I will try that once I get my crafting room organized. I think the builder left some here and it’s in the garage in the cabinet so I got to go check and me and my fast lightning mind I would probably slip off the edge too, so I got to be more mindful to slow down, have a great fourth and I’ll be chatting with you later do what makes your heart happy✂️💌🇺🇸
Glad you like them Susan! I have a great collection of older used stamps. And, sometimes I get to using cut a parts and forget to use my stamps. Shame on me!!
I finally got to watch this video and oh those tiny little gems! I will definitely be snagging some drywall tape when we do the repairs to the garage and as you suggested, I will try those little gems before I turn them into shaker mix instead! Your card today was cute, cute, cute!!
Thank you so much for this! I love it for my cards but my nephews looking at doing some dry wall tape on his paintings for added texture and patterns. We’re jazzed! Lol 😊
Oh yes!! What fun - I'm glad you share your love of art with him! And you'll be able to share a roll of tape. Otherwise it would last f o r e v e r!!! LOL I keep finding little ways to use up some in the studio, and haven't made a dent in mine. LOL
Oh my goodness! I held my breath the same time you reacted to the marking on the card. Great save! Love this idea. Will be looking for the drywall tape!
Your cards never seize to amaze me. Another great idea and guess what?? I have a roll of dry wall tape that i acquired for a couple of pounds second hand. I was struggling to think what to use it for. Thank you so much for your talent and your video's. I just might have to come up with something and do a video too. I am travelling to Spain starting in the next 9-10 hours and plan on making some video's for my new channel. I think you are subscribed lol. I need to find some watchers, likers and subscribers quickly haha 😂😂 Have a great day! Hugs 🥰
Hi there Julia, what exactly is Drywall tape, meaning is it a craft product or something from a hardware store??? To me it looks like a material to make plaster casts... LOL!!! 🤣 This product is completely new to me, and I love how it creates a very nice background effect. Clever you for hand drawing the ribbons on the gifts. I find when I do something like that, I try not to overthink what I am doing otherwise it becomes a disaster. I think that applies to a lot in life..., well at least my life! Regarding your little boo boo... well done for leaving that in your video as it shows how we can overcome our mistakes without discarding the work that we already have done. All your cards were lovely especially the cards with the long stemmed flowers, and I see that you are making good progress with your Christmas cards. By the way I did hear what sounded like loud rain at around 24.38 but couldn't hear any thunder. I hope everything was okay especially that the dogs were dry and safe. I am sure we will chat soon❣ God's blessings, love and hugs, Gloria 🥰☕🍰🌻❤
You are right Gloria - It is for taping and mudding drywall - perhaps you might call it sheetrock? The walls in houses...LOL It is tacky on one side which makes it perfect for card making. Check out some of the cards on the Splitcoast Stampers link I provided - they are amazing!! We did finally get some rain that evening. Have a wonder filled day - Love & Hugs!! Julia
Not sure if I understand the question, but I think if you put enough glue to seep through the drywall tape to the paper you should be good. If that doesn't work, try hot glue. The drywall tape I used has adhesive on one side so it sticks nicely. But putting something on top, if it's a large piece hot glue it.
Found you yesterday and have been binge watching. I LOVE this card! I am also wondering about the 1 inch wide foam tape you use, can you tell me where I can purchase that please?
Hi Kathy! There is plenty of content on the channel so enjoy!! I try to put out a new video on Sunday afternoon (USA time). And, that tape comes from amazon - here is a link - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VZFBTQP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@SeniorSusieStamps I was impressed by the pieces of paper with 2 strips of foam on them. Do you buy the rolls and put them on paper yourself? If so, what kind of paper do you use. I'm 80 and have arthritis in my shoulder and would have a very hard time using that big roll.
@@kathykelly283 I understand arthritis, and had a total shoulder replacement last year. So, know you have my sympathy. I re-use release paper from Avery labels that I put on the back of my cards. Save anything that has a label released from it and I think that will work. I'm not completely sure, but parchment paper might work fine too. I cut the foam strip to length of 5 inches more or less and put them on those sheets. Then I store them in a tray that I got from $ Tree.
@@SeniorSusieStamps I am looking at shoulder replacement also, I think sooner rather than later. Thank you for telling me how you cut the strips, they just seem to be so handy and you use them freely and easily. Guess I need to start saving release paper!!!! Your tips are awesome and I am just getting started watching the video's you have posted. Thank you so much for all you share with us.
