I am simply amazed how this card came out from those random scraps! It's gorgeous!! And now another technique I will have to try with scraps! I have no idea how you come up with these ideas but this one is a great one!
Love both card fronts, but today's is SUPERB! Gonna try one soonest. I have tons of bags full of scraps. Thought of tossing some of them but I just can't do that. Want some? You are so welcome Kathleen! I almost stopped with the turquoise, but really like the triple ink better. It covers more and make the outcome much more interesting.
What a fun technique! I was a bit concerned about the ink dragging with the different colors then the black but this turned out fantastic. Thank you for sharing this technique and beautiful card 8:55 with all of us. A great way to use up scraps.😊
Thanks Patty! I think ink drag can cover up all kinds of stuff and it adds so much more interest. You find yourself drawn in slowly and then realize - Oh there are images on that paper!
Julie! That is an amazing technique using scraps. It’s definitely new to me. 😊 I have quite a bit of patterned paper scraps, already cut into varying lengths and widths, that would be great for this technique. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!❤❤❤

Hi there Julia, when you started making this background I was wondering where you were going to go with it, because it started to look like a hot mess with bits of scrap paper going in every direction. But having faith in your skills as a seasoned card maker you did not disappoint. The ink dragging technique was very interesting, and I loved the colour that it made. Can I ask by dragging the yellow colour after the blue, does the blue ink contaminate the yellow ink pad? It all changed for me after you added the gold pen and spatters of gold, my mind started going off in all directions with what you could do with this interesting card background. I could see this background as a Christmas card with a die cut Christmas tree in gold cardstock. Speaking of Christmas cards, I have almost completed my Christmas cards for this coming Christmas season. I have shocked myself to say the least as I usually only start making them in late October/ November. As per usual they are all Christian themed again this year. I might try and attempt to do some other Christmas cards as well just to play around with watercolours and Christmas papers that I have in my stash. Will have to think about that!!! Hi Julia, great card ideas. I have that ombré paper too and it really does so much of the work for you - I often highlight some of the ‘veins’ in gold ink tfs

Your ideas for changing the look of your scraps is quite awesome. I liked the blue color he'd in the beginning and I wonder how it would look with different shades of blue hues or red or purple used. Hmmm?
Oh yes that turquoise is absolutely my fave! And it played well with the lemonlime green too. But other colors would be very interesting too. Let's try some more!!!

Just subscribed, I am searching on napkin with laminator cards and stumbled on your channel. Dont know if you are aware, but there are matte laminator sheets, so no shine. I bought Scotch brand. Would like if you would make another video.
