Thx bud for the vid! Steps are skipped in every other video. I cross referenced them all lol. For any guys that might be like me….. there are some steps (simple things possibly deemed or thought to be rhetorical…or a “given”) only issue I had was the first clip getting open. After pulling RED TAB up, your vid skips here, and you just say “pull up on the red clip, releasing the lever. Then pull the bottom lever up and out” BUT- There’s A BUTTON you have to PUSH IN directly ABOVE THE RED clip… push BUTTON IN as you pull the entire thing outward. Fits tight, but it will come out if your unhooked at Lever AND are pushing button in the center. I almost broke everything!!! 🤬😳 with force… I went and watched two other vids and one finally mentioned button. Thanks for posting! Informative and made mine possible!!! 🙏🏼🤌🏼🫡
Nice! You actually explained how to do it, some of the other vids just skip so much. Great instructions I am nervous to even try it! Like you said I hope I don't have to call a tow truck
Excellent instructional video. You were straight to the point and answered questions beginners have. Have had diesels before, but this is my first LML. Subscribed!
Thank you for showing the worst part of this install which is where to pole the damn wire through. I can’t believe it’s not part of the instructions! 👌🏼👍🏼thanks man!
Lmfao Hell yea man good job You did it ! Way to face your fears lol I wish I could still go and get that and have my options of tunes !!! I really would like to put my tune down on 60HP
You'll love it, I know I did! I like the stock tune the best for Towing, And that's the beauty of having emission compliant Tunes. You can always tune the truck back to stock! The sport econ tune is Awsome for daily driving! Hope this video helps you good luck Austin! 😎👍
You'll have to buy an EZ-LYNK or other tuner to download the tunes into the ECM. Those tunes work with the switch. Hope this helps thank you Adolph Terrazas!
For installing the dial, do you need to know what tune the truck is in? Because I have no way of finding out what tune my friends truck is in. I believe it’s tune 3 but I’d rather not mess anything up.
Question: I have a 2011 LML, and my switch is on its way. where did you find the numbering for the poles in the ECM? I want to make sure I wire it right the first time, obviously because I dont want to have a broken truck...haha
I found my ECM diagram on duramaxtuner.com it was a pdf download. I'm sure if you give them a call they I'd be happy to email you to the correct PDF. Last time I called I talked to Joey. He was awesome and answered all my questions, And believe me I had a lot of questions. Hope this helps good luck Austin! ...Needed to edit this to let you know to make sure you have the exact manufacture date located on the driver door. ECM pin locations differ due to manufacture date good luck bro!
I am curious did your truck through an engine light when you install the switch? I just installed one on my truck last night and the engine light came on but then I had also not unhooked my battery I did not know if that would cause it? My truck is a 2015 6.6 duramax work truck. Any help or successions would be greatly appreciated thank you!
In fact yes it did throw a check engine light. But only when we tuned it back to stock. We found it was throwing off the coolant temperature. On the DS P switch I would have to keep it at the 4th click to the right, only when in stock tune. That fix the problem. If the truck was tuned I would have no check engine light. Hope this helps!😎👍
I got the lift kit done at Go Big Lifts in Ventura California. There's a guy there goes by the name Tiger, very knowledgeable guy super professional! I highly recommend that place. Let him know DURTYMAX LML sent you!
The Pin numbers can very. Year and half Year models are different some times. 2011 to 2016 LML is pin 35 and 11. Hold the EMC plug with the pin locks pointing down. There are two rows of pins, first row is 52 pins counting right to left, select pin 35. Second row is 16 pins counting right to left, select pin 11. You should be good to go! I hope this in combination with the video helps Swanee234! let me know how every thing works out?
I was get'n 24-26 MPG stock lift, tire & tune at 65-70 MPH. Now 35's & 6.5 inch lift I'm get'n 19 MPG at 65-70 MPG with Tune. Smile's per Gallon not Miles per Gallon!!!!! Hope this helps LCRJ44 Reyes! Thank you!
