Personally I would love nothing more than to see him sit down with an actual fighting game player and play on the same screen. Just to watch him get absolutely clowned on and try desperately to scramble for an excuse.

Mortal Kombat went out of its way to make things like blocking and combos easier than most fighting games and Phil still can not figure it out!! He wants every game to just be huge damage pokes and only he has them , which is why the only game he's ever succeeded in was some incredibly jank sf2 turbo port

funny how every online game he plays has a terrible connection and everyone he matches up against who beats him is a cheater.

I can think of only a few niche times where it was confirmed something works offline, andnot online. And it's usually due to the timing to do it being so narrow that online actually effects it or is a glitch. Not a traditional fighting game but in Dragon ball xenoverse 2 the male saiyans best combo was actually impossible online for some reason. So you had to do a shorter one that would work and effectively nerfed that character type permanently. But that game has confirmed really wonky netcode and difficult balancing to boot. When it comes to traditional fighting games like mortal kombat it's nearly impossible to actually find something that works online and not offline. Phils just making excuses cause he doesn't actually know the game well enough to know what characters can do, or what they can do at certain moments like a fifty/fifty. That and he has super slow reflexes and refuses to admit it. More importantly 'pattern play' is a inherently weak excuse..... cause if it's a pattern it should become predictable, and pro fighter like Phil should recognize patterns quick and counter them right?..... nah.... just a complete baffoon, with terrible excuses.

Clapping in the mic should be considered Assault. Does he not know why other streamers/podcasters use audio clips of claps? It takes the edge off the sonics.

at this point i'm fairly prepared to admit i'm weirdly obsessed w/ DSP... i've gone from hating him to loving him to being totally unsure how to feel about the guy. if anything i don't feel like the vast majority of 'hate' towards him is warranted... but i also feel like if anything, fighting games might be the one area in which you can most easily see his foibles. making excuses and badmouthing the devs is all in good fun until you're talking about a literal competitive environment that is rigorously tested in order to assure things like input accuracy and netcode strain. how is that for ten plus years DSP has been complaining about things like constantly dropped inputs and unbearable lag when somehow the entire FGC seems to handle them fine, not to mention the entire casual playerbase? i feel like it's just the raw audacity of his ego in this particular area that makes him unbearable... anyway thanks for coming to my TED talk.
