1min 30sec for a perfect side window- no further slicking needed: that´s what 5-axis milling can do for you.

5-axis simultaneous milling allows you to use a flatnose cutter on a plane surface with a huge sidestep achieving a perfect surface in no time.
Of course this only works on plane surfaces - so windows and eventually roofs. But nevertheless a big benefit timewise when you compare to 3-axis milling with a ballnose cutter and 0.6mm sidestep (or even less) which would be needed to get a similar result on your clay model. If you add this up for all window areas on a fullscale you can save quite some time.
And with a great software like Tebis (from Tebis Technische Informationssysteme AG) can now easily and reliably do the programming that was time-consuming and prone to errors in the past.
Milling was done with our DT Robot which has a 4kW milling spindle with 24.000rpm and reaches up to 40m/min.
