My firend shoots these to 1400-1500 yards and loves them out of a 24in heavy bull barreled straight fluted bolt gun... Great bullets please make more Dtac bullets like these rbt ones in different caliber sizes please
Behind G. David you can see the numerous hand drills and strips of 120-grit sandpaper he uses to grind out his bullets. On the right is a punch set he uses to stamp his name on each and every round. When his grandchildren come over after school, he treats them to soda and pecan pie and pays them a nickel an hour for their assistance in fabricating the coveted projectiles while he regales them with stories of past monkey hunts deep in the Namib.
Sorry for a side question coming from the topic of Tubb Dust. You said that the hot gas behind the bullet tail turn into copper vapor and coats the barrel. Going back to cast bullets some having a copper cap on the tail called a gas checks. Now jumping a head to the Rebated Boat Tail Bullets. Could there be lets call it a " Heat Shield “ over the Rebated Boat Tail tail to lessen Copper fowling? I hope this isn’t wasting your time - Thanks
I wouldn't want to use this bullet on anything living. Except maybe varminting… The issue with thin jacketed match bullets is that they don't penetrate and expand predictably, so on game such as deer, you might not be reaching the vitals of the animal, especially when shooting from non-ideal angles - and you certainly won't be getting through any bone! The use of match bullets on living animals has gone far enough IMHO - we need to be using a well-constructed hunting bullet for hunting - something like a partition or a TTSX - we owe it to the animal. There's a RU-vidr called "The Real Gunsmith" who did a much better job explaining this hunting bullet situation than I ever could! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pBDm41duCTo.html
NextZip, thanks for your interest. These bullets will be available in April; you can order them from our website www.davidtubb.com. Better yet, I'd call Superior Shooting Systems 806-323-9488 and ask for Tyler - let him know your needs. You'd be in the front of the line come April. Again, thank you. C. Tubb
