there were several videos like this back in the day and me and my german car friends were obsessed with them. I had a red mk2 jetta, quite done up, and had the 155 and other DTM cars in mind with where I wanted to go with it in terms of making custom bodywork for the car. I put a lot into the car and what was left really wasn't much in the grand scheme of things. Life and college and jobs and fear and priorities happened. Can't even find old cars like the ones these are based on anymore, let alone the parts to do anything with them. What a period of time this was.
What a great time the 90's were, that was still racing with power, the courage to leave gaps, the endurance of man and the engines that were bred to the utmost, a battle of materials to the point of no return. Silhouette cars and standardised engine and parts destroyed DTM. Back to production cars and let manufacturers fight. Today's production cars are safer and development gains will be transfer to road. DTM 90s was unique !
Ich will wieder Autos sehen die dem auf der Strasse ähneln und im Rennen nicht nach einer mini Berührung nicht mehr weiterfahren können weil irgendein heikles Carbonteil zerstört ist.Ncihts gegen Carbon, aber im Kontaktsport ist eigentlich nicht sooo sinnvoll.
+wiplash777 Heute fahren doch eh nur Weichflöten rum. Damals war es peinlich wenn nach dem Rennen noch beide Spiegel am Auto waren. Dann war man nämlich zu langsam. Und heute? Da heulen die schon rum wenn mal ein Auto dichter als 2 Meter an ein anderes Auto ran fährt.
