With the two DTM vs Super GT races coming later this year, they had to replace the old engines with these 2 litre turbocharged monsters to keep up with the GT500 cars, and I am not gonna complain because these sound amazing, specially from an onboard view and during downshifts when the antilag kicks in. DTM is one of the best motorsports out there! Love when they come over to UK at Brands Hatch You mention the noise, these are so loud. Been going for years at Brands up until 2013 when they stopped and then last year when they came back. The noise used to be deafening at the end of the day everything was quiet haha, now they still have that noise it's just a little less piercing so not much need for ear plugs now :P

DTM, nice. i don't know why, but i prefer the louder cars. The long straights in Hockenheim and the Start/Finish at the Nürburgring were really cool with the loud cars, because you could hear them before you could see them. In 2017, at the Hockenheimring, we were sitting on the Mercedes Tribüne during one of the Trainings and you heard nothing of the cars coming from behind. You don't need earplugs and everything, but it's an awesome feeling if your gut vibrates from the cars running past.

ive been at the nürburgring dtm race 2018. These V8s were so insanely loud most people had earplugs. There were some girls from my family and the noise was just insane i think they didnt really enjoyed xd. Im happy ive experienced that almost no other class was as loud.

My favourite part if them going to the turbo motors is that is the same engine spec that the japanese super gt gt500’s which means hopefully we will have gtrs, nsx and lc500s in dtm sometime soon and some audi and bmw in the super gt You need to make the trip to the bathurst 1000 in aussie one day, you wont regret it. The dupercars sound wicked
