The Evercross Challenger 8.5'' SUV (Hummer) has only two meinboards (A/B) and has space for a second battery. I accidentally damaged a meinboard on my fist Evercross Hoverboard and bought one more. The Battery is the same.. Will test it and install second Battery ;) Wish me luck........
This was done almost 7 years ago and I have been using it time to time ever since. Make sure the battery in the hoverboard and the additional battery is made by a reputable company. Battery quality is very important. And do it at your own risk ⚠️ Pros: Doubles the mileage (doesn’t go any faster) I think those things are fast enough : ) Cons: Doubles the charging time as it is charging 2 batteries. Because the charger is only designed to charge 1 battery, charger gets hot. I personally charge 1hr then rest 15mins and charge 1 more hour. I recommend never charge these things unattended ⚠️
Nu1Aus thanks for your reply, but could tell me what charger that I would need to change the unit faster once I complete this upgrade. .and where to purchase this charger. Thanks
+RPM Motorsports OK, I am no electronics guru, not by a long shot. But........ wouldn't there be a difference between wiring the 2nd battery in series vs. wiring in parallel ? Would one just extend the battery life and one make it accelerate faster ? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
+Bernd loos Now that I actually have one of these with the 10" wheels, I see no need to make them any faster. It's fast enough already......... probably too fast ! No fun coming off these things at full speed.......... LOL.
is this possible on the 6,5 inch model? btw, i just got mine for a week now and i dont understand charging really much.. every time i connect the charger to the board and turn it on it start flashing and after a while it turns off but when i turn it on while the charger is connected it continue charging. please help me
The charging box light indicates if its charging if the light is red it means its charging when the light is green its charged up. the board turns off no matter what but its still charging if it turns off
I haven't had any issues with charging, battery indicator works perfectly with two batteries. However it takes twice as long to fully charge & the mileage doubled.
nice thanks a lot ! just one more question, are there any other options (example a splitter) for the cable rather than stripping and soldering the cable ? if there is can you help me name the "splitter" i really dont know anything about this.
The outcome depends on various factors such as the following: TYPE OF BATTERY eg Samsung vs Chinese battery. TERRAIN eg rough vs smooth/flat vs hills. RIDERS WEIGHT eg 40kg child vs 110kg person. RIDING STYLE eg fast acceleration & frequently braking vs riding smooth maintaining speed
Yes. Buy the DIY base and attach it somewhere. You will two 18 volt battery's in series. You could put them internally with the right size Milwaukees if you can work out charging them. 36 volts is 36 volts.
+Lukas Kraft The ten inch wheel boards use only two circuit boards while the 6.5 and 8 inch boards use three . no room for the battery. only on the 10 inch boards ! you can upgrade to the two boards, but I don't know if the attitude boards mount the same may need the brackets too form the ten inch board.
there are 2 types of electronics in them 1) left and right sensors and central board 2) left right sensors with central board included in them... you need to have second variant to do this..
Hi Andy, it depends on the type of batteries you are using. In short, yes, but if the battery packs are the same voltage, amp-hours, and have the same internal resistance. For more information I would check out this thread: electricbike.com/forum/forum/knowledge-base/batteries-aa/20725-paralleling-bms-protected-li-ion-packs Good luck on your build!
After first 3 recharges battery should perform at its full potential. You should recharge your battery frequently and let it drain as little as possible in between recharges. Partial discharges are better. Always store a Li-ion battery full charged. Not doing so will reduce its lifespan and capacity.
+Hans Olo why buy connectors when solderings more secure and less lossy tidier and takes up less space and cost no trips to shop or money .most grown ups have soldering irons
+DJDreadnought the term serviceability apply just the same. and also I went trough dozens of li-po packs. if you read warrant agreements, in 90% of cases if you temper with wires, you could warranty so there's that. I still say that soldering two male and one female connectors is way better option.
DJDreadnought well actually the warranty of those scooters isn't voided when you open them. Those are user serviceable and the manufacturer even ships spares on request. Battery's warranty is voided however when you start stripping the insulation. At the very least you should learn to read before calling people stupid, genius.
+Jeffrey Butler as you mentioned your board is new maybe it came with a faulty battery? Usually this type of batteries take about 3 discharge & recharge cycles to perform at its best.
