Fixed a houseboat system that had 4 M7s on 3KW and was appalled by the lack of output- especially given the price. Shop that did the install actually did a good job too so can’t blame it on that. Volume behind the drivers was appropriate as well. Some comb filtering issues given placement but overall manufacturers need to come up with a better option than cutting 12” holes in the fiberglass of these boats for embarrassing levels of output at ludicrous prices. The pseudo-IB setups are horrible, especially in open air environments.
Could you please explain your amplifier choice and how you wired the subs to the amp? I'm genuinely confused by your amplifier choice - it seems completely unsuitable for those two subs. Those subs are 4Ω each, right? That amp is 300W x 2 @ 4Ω or 600W x 2 @ 2Ω or 1200W x 1 @ 4Ω Bridged. I don't see any way you can wire those two subs to that amp and feed them more than 300W each unless you ran it Bridged @ 2Ω, which it's not rated for.
