I like the look of that truck. I've always liked the look of a second gen dually with a flatbed as opposed to a single wheel with a flatbed. It just looks right!! Well done Sam!
I'm only a few minutes in but noticed the spacers not being hubcentric. I have done both of my 2500's with a dually swap. I did them both with spacers first and then just decided to swap the axles. My point here is if you start experiencing any vibrations and can't figure it out, that inner wheel(at least on a third gen) will not sit center with the spacer. The axle shrinks down and the no longer makes it hub centric and it will vibrate like hell. Just a heads up if that happens. Definitely a big fan of the look. I am running a 97 SRW with the Rickson 19.5,s 5 speed, Gear Vendors overdrive, PAC brake exhaust Brake and a “P” pump has a big plate, and 4inch exhaust with a 5 inch tip a long with a 99 gal aux fuel Tank from transfer flow, 365,000 and counting…thanks for posting your videos ! Great content.
For your flatbed flares a lot of people buy trailer fenders from TSC and cut them down and weld them on to keep that nice rolled edge. Truck looks good!
Maybe but if you you knew what held on the spindles of a ford king pin Dana 60 single or dually you’d laugh and then probably wouldn’t think lesser of a spacer
Couple options on the rear axle. The normal 1 ton dually is a few inches wider (close to the spacers), or run a commercial cab/chassis rear which is narrower and will closely match up to the bed width. If going to stay with the stock rear and tow, grab some quality steel spacers that are rated for the weight.

I have been wanting to swap my SWR 3rd Gen to a dually. I have looked up info and asked tons of questions forums. You may already know this but this is what I found out. 2nd & 3rd Gen axels are the same with the exception of some of the steering components. The rear axel for a dually is actually 2” narrower than a single wheel. The difference is the rear brakes. The drum is wider and it has a spacer similar to the front. When you put the 2” spacer on the rear it will actually be wider than a factory dually axel by 2”. Most people swap it that way anyways. The only difference on the front is the dually spacer. A family friend has a truck lot and I measured a stock 3rd Gen rear axel (outside wheel to wheel) and it was almost exactly 2” wider than my truck with stock wheels. Another option is to put a Super Single on the front. Still need the spacer on the front though.

I have a 65 Chevy C20 that I turned into a one ton but I swapped a rear end from a mid 80s F-350 and the entire front end from an old square body one ton. I had to put a huge spacer on the front to clear the calipers too. I believe it is 5" but it's been a while so I don't recall exactly. I had to make some allowances to make the bed and wheel wells fit but in the end, it worked out. I'm still debating whether to build a flat bed for it or not but I'll retire soon and will make that decision then, when I have time to work on it. I really like what you've done with Grandma's truck man, it's badass! And I agree that the duals look much better with the flatbed than the single wheel rear looked. I have to say that I really admire your persistence too. You're like a damn bulldog when you start something!
Dule rearends are narrower than single rearends . The center of the front tire is in the same place as stock single with the offset of the rim. No extra ware. The only reason they do that on the front is so all rims match with one spare. Keep up the good work.
Your drone works fine for what you do. They have one that tracks the base. So you have the base inside the vehicle and the drone will follow. Used in off reading and racing. Find a 1 ton axel for it like you said. Check pick n pull. Love the truck.
If the Dodge is anything like Chevrolet, then be sure to grab the spring hangers off the 1 Ton when you swap from the 3/4 Tom rear end. I ran into some major issues in spring pad width from side to side being narrower for the dually. The difference meant I needed to grind the rivets and deal them over using grade 8 button head allen bolts in place of the old rivets.
I know all about them spacers make sure there tight had a flat once ruined the tire so pulled in a tire shop they didn't tighten enough ended up shearing all the hub bolts and bout lost my dualls at 85 mph just north of Houston 1 time
Find a ford Dana 60 from a 92-97 and swap the knuckles out and have lock outs plus it’ll make the track width wider so your front tires will stick out. I done it on my 98. All the ball joints and u joints are the same. You will have to re taper the knuckles for the tie rods.
I know this is a bit old but just FYI if you do swap to a dually rear axle, they're like 3" more narrow than a SRW axle, so it'll actually tuck those wheels in a bit. Could be a pro or a con depending what you're going for.

I would cut out a little of the bed for a little more clearance for the rear tires , which I hear you saying you're going to do now. Looks good to me though . Beautiful ❤️ truck . I watched the motor swap video yesterday .
Great content with my morning coffee. I wholeheartedly support the dusky swap... suggest painting those Ram center caps gloss black. Subtle, but badass on those 19.5s Like the intro, but it’s kinda long. Maybe just use a guitar riff or one of the vocal tracks from it, but if you’re going to keep it as the channel intro it seems a bit lengthy.
2nd gen DRW pickup rear axle is roughly 2 inches wider than a SRW rear axle. So a factory pickup axle will be about 2" narrower than where you're at now. With a DRW axle and single tires, it would actually look about right under that flat bed if you were so inclined. C&C DRW axle is quite a bit narrower than both of the pickup axles, and might actually fit your duals under without needing to add flares on your flat bed.
Had the same exact power steering problem but instead of adjusting the box and tightening the bolts for leak I just slapped a new one on and helped steering slop a lot
What's the deal with everyone wanting wheels on the outside of the truck? I thought it was just kids that that did this. Nice channel Sam, one of the best on the tube in my opinion.
Well, with three set of spacers in the front wheel, rig is the right word. Get those spacers off that truck and do it correctly. A plaintiff would own everything you've worked hard for. I think if you were DOT inspected, they'd tag you out of service for one spacer, much less three.

I dig the intro man. Also, I got a 96 12 valve 2wd 3500 dually with 185k on the clock that might be for sale up in Oregon for $4k-$5k if you're interested. The front axel wont suit your needs but the back axel would and a healthy 12 valve engine is always nice to have. I'll shoot you a message on Instagram. I know its easier to communicate there.
So if you are worried about the spacers and their strength just know you'll be alright. I'm registered at 26,000 and run a 2" on my factory front spacer and I run a 2" inside the duals and one in between. Before that I would always run a 2" in between or on the inside(before I did the axle swap). If they're torqued properly you can rest easy lol Not sure how they'll hold up to your big trailers though. You got some weight back there 😂
Just keep an eye on the aluminum spacers lol I’ve heard they like to pull the studs out of em , had a buddy that ran a set , told him the same thing except he didn’t believe me , until he was holding two cracked out wheel studs lol
