Every time I get myself to a point to where I convince myself I don’t need a diesel I goof and watch a v belt and son vid and sure enough I’m on marketplace once again
I have 12 and 24 valves, currently driving a 200,000++ mile 24valve with the original VP44. I love my 12 valves but my 24 valves are absolutely awesome. I can tune on the fly and the 24v starts way better in the cold than the 12v p pump. (My Ve pump 12er can’t be beat). The 24v with the 4 doors puts the icing on the cake. I feel like the drivability and power curve of the 24v is better than my 12 for towing
I’ve been running the blue hose on my 99 since around 06. What’s that about 17 years? Yep. Man time flies. Never had any problems. Fass is a good product.
Man you just know how to make a good ol truck better everytime! Sounds like you go a good deal on this truck and you darn sure did good with it. Wish I could find a deal like that especially with a 5600!! I’m doing some work on my 2wd 94 12 valve 3500 2wd auto. I don’t love the 2wd or auto part but I don’t have much in it and it’ll tow what I need it to so until something else comes along I’ll use it. Keep up the great work!
This reminds me of another thing i like about my 2000 dodge ram truck is it is not all hacked up under the hood with the wiring harness and the air box adapter kit crap, it retains its factory air hood cap on the throttle body and the magnum V8 air cleaner snorkel tube is still on the truck so is the factory functional AC
Hey man. Just put in a dual disk and I caught that little tip you mentioned to shave down the splines on the input shaft. Shifts like butter so thank you.
Cool video Sam. That dually came looking nice and those chrome simulators made a big difference at the end. I’ve thought a protech headache rack and a toolbox always look cool on those trucks. Nice old school dirt perfect sweater btw.
1st Gen Badassness🤠🤠🤠 Thx for the hardwork and working together to the common goal_ Dodge❤..You guys... ! Sam does awesome work and has a big heart !! Peace to ya ya'll
That is really cool! I really like the extended cab! That's one reason I kept my 2012 Silverado 2500HD, you can't get an extended cab anymore! Unless you buy a Fix Or Repair Daily. 8) What is your take on the $1.7 Billion Cummins/Ram fine from the EPA? Word has it they have to pay the fine, then fix it, or compensate? Just like the Volkswagen deal? I can't believe they are doing that, and/or that Cummins lied about it all these years!! Maybe they can hold off till President T gets back in!! Should be interesting in any case! Great video Sam, really enjoyed this one!! Have a good one... 8) --gary
@@offroad_fozzy8341 hell ya nothing wrong with that. I talk about my first rig in the next video I posted. Started with a blazer and a boat trailer to haul a mower on it
Don't hate me, I got a 06 F350 on an oil field auction. Super dirty and very cheap. Two new batteries and drove it 350 miles home. Got the 6.0L bulletproofed $5,000 with Fass fuel pump, I went bottom sump. Already had B&W gn I just had to get a ball. Got a pretty good tune in it. Gets over 25 mpg empty. Real happy with it, but it don't sound anything like my old Dodge. It got run over by a 18 wheeler. I've put about 20,000 miles so far on the Ford, still running good.
This is another reason vice grip garage prefers the plastic wing nut hose clamps that and so he doesn't stress his Leatherman trying to get the older generation of them off, and gm and Ford spring clamps...
My third brake light occasionally stays on the brake light switch is either a adjustable one that is not, or needs replaced and probably have a bit more air to get out of the brakes since it has almost all new brake lines..
That blow by could be a vacuum leak. I had that on my 98 24valve. It was a fitting right on top of the vacuum pump that was just dry rotted and obviously there is a ton of those vacuum lines and shit that could be the culprit. Anyway it would push vacuum into the crank case and pour out of the crank case vent tube. Just a thought!
The biggest issue I’m having with my 01 is finding a new map sensor for it. They done a update and changed the style and now I’ve gotta buy a $900 wiring harness to match up with the new sensor
I agree She definitely needs a SPORT grille and bumper / cover with fog lights!!! and (this is more subjective) get rid of those plastic moose antlers and either go to regular factory power mirrors or the old “west coast” mirrors.
I don’t know about a FASS system on a 2nd gen. I’ve had both airdog and fass on my 2nd gens and I noticed the FASS pumps either fry too quickly or the filters have issues
Do you have a recommendation for a Steering Gear Box? I put a Red Head on and there is still play. The RH shaft has some side to side play (I put a brace on). Also newer inner/putter tie rods. Wish I bought the Gas Truck gear box. Edit: 02 2500 H.O.
I have the identical truck but its an 01 ho 6speed with 184k miles... only problem is im in Maryland & its gettin rusty smh.... what did u find the problem to be with the back drivers aide door that wouldn't open? Mine hasn't opened in 4or5 years lol
They got rid of the big round factory rv muffler mine is missing too im just going to put a mini glass pack cherry bomb muffler on the truck and however much exhaust pipe tubing to reconnect the factory single exhaust tailpipe since it is all in decent shape, and the previous owner had someone hacksaw it off because of a annoying whistle sound taking off, it was a pinhole in the muffler flange pipe in front of the muffler lol some people...
Explain a few more details. The people who are not a mechanic can get more out of it if you explain the parts and the problems. Very good on description of the install process.
I have a trailer test light kit the round to flat plug adapter i believe it is from eBay and I have a new Rams head third brake light receiver hitch cap from pilot automotive products brand parts...
I took out the outter handle to get access to the rods and one was disconnected. And the latch had a bolt back out. Hooked back up tighten bolt and worked. I hadn’t worked on one before. Was a simple fix
10 to 15 k for a rust free diesel truck is a good deal as there wanting the same for the rusted out trucks here in Canada using the same blue books they use in Arizona ...go figure
@@VBELTandSONthanks for the reply man. i was just curious because we have some bumper pull trailers at my work that look just like that. seems like an alright trailer for the small stuff i haul
@@91silverado33 ya this trailer should have been returned to manufacture. But my dad needed it so he made it stronger to do what it was rated for. Years and years ago
