Trust sony to do it right.. would have been nice to have 4 back buttons but i’ve only ever had two so thats fine.. I could never buy an xbox……

@@phantasticmrphasma9874 my buddy had the Xbox elite 2 controller and it lasted less than a year before both triggers and one analog having major issues

@@zackallen7820 yeah it’s not going to be every controller but there’s plenty of reports in forums of the same issues. Every unit sold should have top quality when you’re paying >£200 for a controller. A relatively common bumper issue shouldn’t be a thing.

@@JapseyeSpecs As a Microsoft og, there newest controllers are starting to become fragile, same with Nintendo. Whole reason I Jumped ship other than the fact that Nintendo has no games, and Microsoft's games are on PC.

I get the impression that the tunable deadzone is only for the triggers not the analog stick.

If you pay this much for a controller then you shouldn't have to worry about stick drift to start with

@@JG-ib7xk true, but stick drift is honestly inevitable depending on the types of games you play. So having the option to change deadzones and also change the password hole entire stick module is a huge plus.

What would you use 4 back buttons for? Where would they be placed? I'm not antagonizing, I'm legit curious.

@@PhilosophyofGuitar four inputs would match up with the amount of face buttons, so you'd be able to do more inputs at once without moving your hands off of any control stick or other button.

What do you even play to necessitate such fast reaction times though?

Yeah no kidding. The wife picked me up a new controller last night while I set up my repair. Bought the PlayStation in April. Never in all my years of gaming ever had stick drift.

What about LB or RB or L2 or R2 Big problems breaks ez 2months max pass controllers.Need too make it more durable or need solutions how replace easier better price.

all kind of analog drift can easily be fixed by spraying CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner . I kid you not go on try it. Thank me later.

you haven't seen many controllers then. Scuf, Microsoft and other brands has already had most/all of these features for their pro controllers literally for years.

In terms of quality, scuf is a complete waste of money, garbage over priced controllers that constantly break and are a pain to repair, and Microsoft is no better, the price is ok, but the quality of their elite controller(s) are nothing to brag about. Pitiful. This one made by Sony looks to be much better and at a much better price too, but only time will tell.

@Zaiite I’ve also seen all the other controllers out there and non of them offer all the features that the edge does, with all the new things AND without sacrificing any duel sense features too. Honestly best controller I’ve seen

After using a higher end controller for a while, with 4 back paddles, it really makes this less appealing. They got everything else covered, but dropped the ball there :/

I got the elite Xbox controller. N tbh I never use more than two paddles. Each to their own. I just find any more than two on the back is just kinda too much

@Imaginary User oh I know? I think I was commenting in response to people questioning why people want two paddles over four like the Xbox elite? But I pushed the wrong reply button or something. With that said, I'm still going with the Dualsense Edge over other 3rd party PS controllers with four or more buttons. The ergonomics and build quality of the controller is important to me to. Wanting the extra buttons is partly due to better ergonomics. I've already had pains in my hands playing certain games. Anything I can do to be more ergonomically sound to be preserve the longevity of my body is worth paying a little extra or sacrificing on a feature or two, like buttons 3 and 4.

It's "immersive" I don't think it's adjustable is it? The old dualsense had haptic triggers too, I hope the tech was improved but I doubt it

Its no adjustable haptic Feedback like other controllers they are trigger Stops (reduces the Range you have to press the button to shoot ) as an example

@@rocketgamer3878 yes you can have put locks on the triggers for some reason, and yes you can change the deadzone to reduce the amount of press needed to work but they do have haptic feedback, it's just not adjustable

Not having that problem with dual sense but still prefer the Xbox feel and layout of the controller. When they actually start to utilize the haptic feedback maybe it’ll boost it in my eyes 🤷🏾‍♂️

They already made a new black skin for the PS5 and it’s controller. The skin is called “Midnight Black” and it’s obviously the best and most famous skin for the PS5 and it’s controller, due to the fact that it brings nostalgia to PlayStation experts and PlayStation players who played the old consoles of Sony (the PS2, the PS3, the PS4, and the PSP) and because black was always the most iconic and relatable color of the old PlayStation consoles that are probably still the best even till today

@@R1R1R2 I've used my controller daily for months and it's still pearly white, i'd recommend washing your hands every once in a while if you're leaving behind stains like that.

Controllers are really easy to take off just the outside plates you could spray paint it black with a few coats of primer then black then clear coat and you’re done lol. Or you can wait until eBay or Amazon has black ps5 plates for this.

How about these companies just stop using crappy components and eliminate stick drift altogether? These controllers are expensive. They shouldn't be drifting AT ALL.

@@DoubleU159 Fair point. But also, stick drift wasn't a thing during the PS1, 2, or 3 era, (Not a major thing anyway) So there's no excuse for these newer, more expensive controllers to be failing after only a few hundred hours of use.

I'm gonna be getting a ps5 shortly, how do the sticks feel compared to a ps4? About the same or....? Switched to ps4 back in 2018ish I think because I got tired of Xbox ones controller. Going from Xbox 360 to an Xbox one controller was terrible. More input delay, smaller sticks, and super sensitive too. Hopefully this doesn't happen with the ps5 lol

Same here! I was 13/14 when I got a ps2 and a tony hawk game. Now at 34, I've just purchased the PS5 console and EA FC 24. I stopped playing the ps2 when I was 18 and needed to focus on building my design career and now I'm at a point where I can enjoy some nostalgic memories, I can't wait to play GTA V! I'm also worried about not being able to stop gaming 😅

They could have used a different tech for sticks to stop drift but they didn't. I'll give you one guess as to why and it's the same reason that feature you mentioned isn't in the console settings.

We already have a solution. They're hall effect sticks. Sony used to use them for DS3 Controllers but they cheaped out in the DS4 forwards. Don't buy these controllers they're unreliable.
