On the healing bench this time we have a PS5 DualSense Edge Controller. The USB-C port has been broken and in for replacement.

Great work as always. One question: I remember you saying that favor union sticks are more or less garbage compared to the alps ones. However I heard from several people that the FU ones should be more precise ingame in terms of tracking targets etc.?

Thakn you 🤘. Genuine ALPS calibrated correctly are fantastic analog sticks. They are how the manufacture intended the controller to feel, track and tracking. Nice and generic as you would expect a controller from $ony / M$ to be new out of the box.. It's what we expect as defult. What we don't like is the time it takes for stick drift to set in. If we (Uber Micro Repairs) replace stock ALPS analogs we do a few things to them to prevent stick drift for as long as possible on top of using heavely vetted parts from suppliers we trust high up the food chain. Hall effect analogs are a differnt breed and require more close attention to detail. They track different, feel different and calibrate VERY differently. We pay extreamly close attention to detail before we recommend anything!! Reliability and quality is paramount!

Very nice mod videos :) I would like to mod dualsense controller, so it can run with usb port power only without battery. I got the dc to dc buck converter 3.7v and 10 resistance thermistor but not sure where is + and - on pcb from usb c port. Can you please give me a tips or make one:)

Easy done. Sony just sells utterly crap. Better to repair then buy a new one. Don’t want to sponser their failures.

What is the part number and is it different from the normal ps5 controller or do the have the same exact usb connector?

I would have put kapton tape over the plastic connectors, but you still managed to do it without having to replace them.

No, tape is bad, better some metal to just cover connector. Tape is sticky bad thing.

You must have never used it. It doesn't leave a residue as other tapes. Flux is also sticky that's why you clean the work area with isopropyl alcohol after working on it smh.

I need you to do 2 of my controllers I have a ps5 dual sense and ps4 dualshock that get loose over time and keep disconnecting. I dont know what scuf the company is using for their usb c ports but they are really bad over time and stop working. Mid game itll keep disconnecting. What do I have to do to get a hold of you? please let me know I will take care of you and make sure we both happy for all this. Niko

SCUF just re-shell stock Xbox and PS controllers so USB's are all the same. All the contact details are in the description.

@@UberMicroRepairsthey are just for smoothing out high frequency noise to ground. It will work just fine, probably only there because the triggers in the edge use magnets.
