I put an SSD in my PS3 slim, it is absolutely silent and ridiculously fast (RAGE runs at 60fps with NO texture pop in!). The menu system is instantaneous and media files open just as quickly. I actually prefer it's user interface by far. I used my PS3 to rip all of my CD's, archive all of my photos and movies from my digital camera, and handle all of my media management on external storage devices (including my phone). It even reads my networked storage drives. As much as the extra power is nice in the newer consoles, my overall experience using them is nowhere near as good as I had with my PS3, it truly felt like next generation device. In fact, it still does. SIDE NOTE: I like to think they added the printer support because of me, lol. I worked for Sony at the time and requested it at a seminar when I met a couple of members of their North American Playstation team, they really liked the idea, but I imagine it was probably already in the works. Still, maybe?

As someone who owns the original fully backwards compatible PS3, I had no doubt it would have the ability to connect (I also knew if there would be any issue it would be the PS button functionality). I know you're down playing it for your audience, but anyone who owned a PS3, especially those original models with access to the entire PlayStation library up to that point, would know just how far ahead those machines were. I mean the military didn't make their super computer out of PS3's for nothing.

A thing I liked about the PS3 is that it worked with any controller, even an Xbox one controller, or some random cheap controller made for PC.

I don't see any reason why Sony would want the PS5 controller to work with the PS4. It's not really surprising that the PS4 isn't forward compatible. Having had a PS5 since launch day, going back to the PS4 controller feels as weird as the PS2 or PS1 controller. The old controllers just feel so cheap. Love them all though, and this video taught me nothing but was weirdly entertaining. Good job..

I don’t know if you know this but, the reason the Dualsense doesn’t work via Bluetooth on ps4 is because it can’t operate the home screen, you use the dualshock 4 to operate the home screen but you can use the Dualsense to play a game. That’s really it. You should try it. It works.

No need to reset the controller, just press and hold the PS button for about 10 seconds to turn it off. Then start the pairing process

The only reason I'd consider the DS Edge if it had compatibility with the PS4, but typical of Sony, they made sure to stop that from happening. The funny thing is that there are many pro controllers around that still have compatibility with the PS4.

8:35 not true, You can still use Dualsense on a jailbroken PS4, on any model, Slim, Pro, doesn't matter, the lock is purely software and it makes no sense, yet it exists The only somewhat logical explanation I can come up with is SONY not wanting to spend resources and make sure the supported features work as expected, such as the touchpad, LED or gyro, as a matter of fact, PS3 which does support many bluetooth controllers, won't use gyro or even rumble on any controllers except DS3/Sixaxis, alltough the Sixaxis controller didn't have any rumble hardware, I bet You still get the point (there are some 3rd party controllers which use dongles to trick the console into thinking it's dealing with an actual DS3, but those are the only exception I know of) Otherwise, even tho I'm quite late, that's a solid video right there

My MSI GC30 works with the included wireless dongle. Pretty much any standard PC HID class controller/adaptor will work with the PS3. Even an Xbox One controller works via USB!
