One bashed up and both corroded, so I replaced both ports for a fresh start on a used scooter.
Remove a small bolt on each end of the cover (2) and the 3 bolts towards the middle of the cover.
Gently pull the cover away from the chassis and disconnect the charge port wires from the scooter and keep the red and black charge wires insulated and away from one another so they cannot short out.
Remove the charge port retaining nut with an 18mm socket... My charge port was bent so I needed to hold the inside steady with some vice grips at the same time.
OEM has the nut on the outside...The GX16-3 male connectors that I had on hand needed the cover on the outside and the nut on the inside...This changes the order of operations for reassembly vs. OEM.
I put Loctite on the threads and I expect that hot glue could also likely have done the job of keeping the retaining nut from coming undone from vibration.
Voromotors sells the two charge ports for $34 in 2023. www.voromotors.com/products/d...
I already had a couple of GX16-3 male connectors, so I figured that I would solder what I had on hand onto the existing wires along with some 1/8" heat shrink tubing.
The port has two flat sections that correspond with the flats in the mounting holes.
GX16-3 connectors are under $5 each ...Fast and more expensive smile.amazon.com/Heyiarbeit-A...
Two for $7

Two for $5 with some wires and the incorrect connector to the scooter so these would also need soldering to fit the Dualtron... Usually delivered in 2-3 weeks www.aliexpress.us/item/225579...
