@3:35 on-wards is definitely "trying to get into something" breathing :-D I'd never have thought such as thing would exist for the bonnet, it even looks pretty good.
Aww thanks Error42!!! ... it’s a strange feeling to cover metalwork with cloth... a few people have suggested it may trap moisture and cause problems, so I will take it off occasionally to check... I hope it protects my vans front from stone chips and big bugs 🐛... take care and as always ... stay safe man :-)
Awww thank you!... Vicky has had something... week3 now... but she’s on the mend... I had a little tickle in the throat for about a week... who knows what it is... but we’re both ok... just self isolating... Thanks Rushden! You stay safe too... and have a great weekend!
Great advice! Got myself some seals as was already a slight gap at the bottom of my sliding door. Shuts much quieter and air tight all the way round 👌 HOWEVER, as with all van conversions you fix one problem create another, the side door now very visibly sticks out particularly the side closest to the front where there is no proper "latch". Is my placement maybe a little off? Should it be just off centre to the seal rather than directly in line with it? Any advice appreciated! Thanks for the great video 👍
Great video Howard! doesn't half make a difference with the extra seals etc... I remember seeing Lewis von Jon with this bra. he had trouble installing it I seem to remember but you made it look easy. nice job!
Hi Steve, thanks for popping on :-). I bet you’ve done these mods already!!! Did you sell / donate those mud flaps yet?!? I’m actually thinking it would be good to have some :-). Which ones would you recommend?
Dubious Engineering I have in fact done it. When my van went to Dirty Weekender for the extra windows and carpet lining they added dynomat to my doors and the extra seals were done while it was in. As soon as I reach the 4K mark my sons and I are going to draw a winner from the hat. Your name is in the hat 😉. I really rate these actual flap, the way they fit and position on the van they are perfect for the job. They came from custom vee dubs👍 (Shorty flaps)
Steve Field thanks 🙏 Steve, take my name out of the hat, I’m going to go ahead and buy some. While I have time at home, I may as well make progress :-). Thanks mate!! Take care and keep up the epic video work!! :-). All the best!!!
Just bought the "D" strip for mine..comes with a free dash strip so i don't feel so ripped off lol. i retro fitted power windows to my old bus Howard and avoided taking the window actuator assemblies off...i've only ever heard bad things about taking them off..so you have done well not to do it :)
Phew!! That’s encouraging!!! Thanks Jason!!... everything was pop-riveted and I just wanted to find a way around having to re-assemble after drilling out etc... I didn’t do much research, just got on with it. I was nervous about putting too much strain on the glass and breaking it! ... those door seals are cheap, you will be well happy with the results :-). A 5 minute job :-)
Thank you! - It really makes a nice difference to the level of SOUND in the front of the van..... everything is much Quieter!! :-) Thanks for your knd comments!! :-) Hugs!!
Looks great! I did the door seals already & did the sound deadening on my T5. Came here to see how to do it on T6 so thank you! What extra insulation did you use in door cards?
