Today you are a street artist, tryin' to sell some CDs, and after many years you have concerts and you are in a same line-up with one of the most known artist from Earth on concerts. This is some true dedication and we all have to learn someting about it.
I’m speechless seeing how the couple in the beginning of the video just flee when the woman comes to propose them a CD… “let’s move honey ! I feel I’ll find myself obliged to buy one, this is too damn good but I’m not ready to admit it yet, nor buy anything from a street vendor !” Yeah yeah I know, lot of movies in my head… ^^

Hello this is BD. This film of Dub FX performing 'Love Somone' has now been up for 8 years. Time has flown by and I would like to take this opportunity to answer a couple of the comments that have been repeated probably thousands of times. 1. The film is entirely real and live, the audio sounds clean as it was recorded through the loopstation as well as through the camera mic. There is no trickery/fakery/greenscreen. The background looks separated simply as I shot with a very shallow depth of field. 2. There were many people watching Dub FX that day. This idea that people were unappreciative or lacking is bogus. Remember you are watching just 8 minutes of performance from one street session on a random day. Outside the frame of the camera is the rest of a city with people going about their daily lives, in a noisy busy environment. The film (by design) focuses your attention intentionally. Plus the audience would have been in front of him, off camera to the right. This is especially true for the film 'Flow' (with Mr Woodnote) where the audience is behind the camera. 3. Both Dub FX (Ben Stanford) and BD (Ben Dowden) are hugely grateful for all the views and interest that this film has created. It changed both our lives, and it's amazing to see people still discovering it, and coming back to it, Thank you.

I am 62 in 2020 and would have got my hands on a CD straight away. The music blew my mind. Amazing what humans are capable of, that is if he is not Alien.

I love seeing him with his gf on the streets, selling CD's. It tells his story. He is now invited to all the major festivals, but he wont ever take this video down, hopefully. It shows what perseverence and hard work can acomplish. Well done, y'all. :) you did it!
@@TFUAFA aww, thanks 😊 Maybe partially but the world has destroyed a massive part of who I used to be. It's sad because I was all about love, peace, helping people, etc. Now I actively avoid people and hate everyone because they all seem to be shitty people at their core. Oddly enough I still care for people and long to be with them but, just isn't worth the pain/betrayal and every person is mistrusted to an extreme degree.

13 years ago… this song absolutely changed my life, I was 12 years old. I owe a lot to this music. This song single handedly shaped my mindset growing up. And I can’t thank dub fx enough for providing that for me. He really did revolutionize the boys and girls lmao
Me too. I only just stumbled onto DUB FX, and I've rewatched some tracks like 10 or twelve times.. I'd like to be able to mark it with a like each time.
This is not as easy as it looks...especially with the very first loop. And then you have tyhe vocals which are stellar. Then you have composition....then on top of all of that you are actually something worth hearing. Mad respect and encouragement. Great. Excellence. Bravo.
Dub FX is really really talented, good vocal range, and his lyrics are just so damn insightful and meaningful. "Love Someone" is my favorite track by him and the street performance version is the best IMO.
I was fortunate to have Dub Fx perform in the pub I was running sound for during SXSW a few years back. An amazing performance, a real benchmark for the live shows I've worked.
Ive been sitting here thinking i wish i could find others with my level of conciousness, suddenly i was humbled to think how this talented artist was feeling back then having this level of conciousness and hardly anyone able to truly comprehend what hes singing. It truly is a war on conciousness we live in 🙏💖
I watched this video when it came out and thought it was was one the sickest things ever. I showed it to my friend and he didn’t think it was that good. That’s when I realized some people just don’t have the same appreciation for musical talent as others. Still watching it after so many years and it never gets old.
Ive been watching this video since the year it was uploaded when my college friend Kyle showed me. I was blown away and showed all of my friends who all thought it was pretty cool. The message of this song is really relevant still today and really transcends time in the sense that man is always at war either with himself or with the world and with a shift in one's personal focus we can start to realize a lot of the things we were raised to believe may not necessarily be true or may be a way of looking at the world which creates fear and the dismissal of passion in pursuit of safety. Well the original reason I was going to post on this video again was because at 3:30 when he gets up to the point where he puts his foot on the petal and it gets all echoey, that transition still gives me butterflies. He seriously is just so involved in the music but I love the fact that he points to his flower fairy along with the lyrics. One of my all time favorite videos online.

Couldn't be more pumped to see this guy play live at a new years festival in NZ this year. Saw him in Dunedin years ago and is still the best artist i have ever seen live, something about his voice loop wizardry takes it to another level of awesomeness.
Keep revisiting this song over the years, first heard this song a few months after the video released and it becomes more and more meaningful, this song ages very well, been a supporter of dub fx for a long time, had most of the albums, everything's a ripple, theory of harmony and thinking clear however theory of harmony is my favorite album of all Thank you Ben for showing me this amazing musician all thoes years ago

I was so moved by his talent and music I searched for his website and bought one of his CD's. 14 years ago, almost to the date I found him.
