Hell no. It's a straight up waste of time, money and materials for a totally useless tower of glass that serves zero function or purpose. The millions of dollars used for B.S projects like this could go towards things that could actually improve this world.

That's a stupid mindset. A desert is not easy to sprawl into. Cheaper to build up rather than make utility connections deep into the hostile desert. Also, by your logic, countries like US/Canada should not have skyscrapers either. They're about maximizing potential of a speciifc location and you can't keep sprawling outwards. However this tower isn't a building. It's a tower and just a money symbol

@0741921 Well, us cities have spraweled out, and the price of real estate acerage makes skyscrapers profitable. Yet the Arabs build them regardless of the fact that the demand and price of land in those areas hasnt grown. The demand to conserve space doesnt justify the cost just yet.

Simply because it attracts tourists. No one would've known Dubai if they didn't build Burj Khalifa. When they can't make money from their oil, those buildings they've built would be good assets for them.
