Well done Nozomi!! She did what akane could not do last year. What a way to finish her first full season on the circuit.

A wonderful final, needed two strong players release their full skill of play and they did it. Nozomi proved that; work hard and U can be a champion ir-regardless of height. And Wang Yihan shown her profession attitude; even she ended as runner-up, she sincerely congrat Nozomi and clapped for her. Lee Xuerui and Sun Yu can't compare with her. Really miss Wang Yihan.

what a comeback by okuhara in 2nd set. i believe the current batch of chinese players (Li and the 2 Wangs) would have to retire after next yr Olympic to make room for the younger players.

The j-player deserves to win -- she played very well, and never gave up even when she was down!

Excellent final and even though I like Okuhara I couldn't help but rooting for Wang in this match. Her discipline and desire was evident. It's been a while since she's won a big championship.

A string gone 18 -18 and she wins. I can't believe that xD Congrats to the champion and also to Wang Yihan. Wang Yihan and Wang Shixian are my favorite player in women single too.

Those two net shots were so unlucky for Wang, and so lucky for Nozomi, but that's how the game goes sometimes. That was really good match. Incredible shots by Wang but she very apparently got tired where Nozomi has the stamina. Well deserved, she played extremely well all tournament displacing major good players.

Nozomi Okuhra is an unlikely champion but kudos to her for rising to the occasion and training hard for this great victory. She is only 1.55m tall, not svelte and almost flat-chested, but this means she has a low centre of gravity and great retrieving and placement skills. She is humble, respectful (90-degree bows) and likeable. Her win is a refreshing change from the usual dominance by Chinese players and lately the shrieking irksome bitch Carolina Marin who is skilful player but a contemptible human being who will hopefully fade away. Let's hope Nozomi Okuhara advance to the two coming Olympics.

Okuhara suka x angkat bola, jarang nyemes & jarang x kasih bola2 silang kpd Wang tp Wang pun sdh habis tenaga jg. ❤❤❤.

2015 sampai 2020. penampilan nozomi tidak berkurang . cuma chen yu fei n tty saja yg sangat garang. setara xing xinpang n gao (yg juara emas 2004 n 2008 itu).

I also don't like delaying tactics. But in this game, Wang benefited more on the delaying tactics that okuhara did Because its obvious that Okuhara had a better stamina. Also,, I like that okuhara had to carefully use delaying tactics, She wasn't warned of any sort, So it's completely legal what she had done here. If she had been reprimanded or warned yet continued to play those delayic tactics, then that would have been a completely different story. In this case however, she didn't do anything inappropriate or illegal.

What racket does Wang Yihan use????

The final, match-winning shot by Okuhara was not returned, not because Wang Yihan missed it - the shuttlecock hit the floor not really that far away from where she was standing. She just gave up - put simply: she SURRENDERED. Surrendering after a dogged, spectacular fight to recover the ground lost in the first game that at one stage saw her holding multi-point advantage over Okuhara. Surrendering just shortly after the rising Japanese star, for the first time in this tournament, began to show some signs of frustration and stress. Wang was totally exhausted, physically. In terms of stamina, she is no match of her opponent. Mentally she might still have the will to continue, but she probably realized that even if she could manage to claw back the second game, she would have little strength left to drag herself through the final game. She had the plot, the skills and the strong desire to beat that short Japanese girl whose head can barely reach the level of her shoulder, but she didn't have enough physical power, and that spelt the end of her dream. Okuhara, the female samurai of the today's badminton world.

+melaleuca revolution gold ... yeah ... still WYH has quite some trouble with her body tension and that takes a heavy toll. plus quite a few times her reaction was a tiny bit off so she started in the wrong direction and had to change in midstride. During such a match that really hurts. still - she really needs to work on torso strength.

Despite the amount of shots that touches the net and flips over. There was a slight mistake from the umpire at first set 12:5 when after the challenge, the umpire did not deduct Okuhara's score from 13 to 12 (which should be 12:6 after the challenge). non the less, so much stamina stored inside her and congratulations

+Andrew Lin Good spot. This is quite a big mistake actually. Okuhara was awarded an extra point.

Omg! I checked ! U right! This changes everything. Wang yihan would have won the first set as she had a match point. Damn! Nozomi is sure lucky. She also won the all England against shixian when shixian got a red card for a stupid reason n nozomi got an extra point. Shixiam was leading but after the red card she couldn't win points. Damn lucky girl!

Usually challenges happen before the points are awarded. This time the point was awarded . Hence the error. Damn! I don't like it, but that's how it is.... Nozomi was destined to win.

@@ronyboylive6934 wang yi han stop 20 at first set so i don't think wang yi han win in first set bcs she awarded 1 point after challenge and didn't lose any point by umpire.
