Not going to lie, being half Irish this song fills me with so much pride, and joy. As a child my mom used to tell us stories about the history of Ireland to my sisters, and I. I wouldn’t choose to be anything else, but half Irish, and half Mexican. Two countries that have overcome an incredible amount of oppression, and who won’t be folding any time soon. I'm British (with a smattering of Eire blood, actually from ancestors who left during the famine and reached Wales) and still found this moving. So few Brits know about the history of atrocities against our neighbour - fwiw, I think what was done to Ireland was despicable. Respect and love to Irish folk everywhere.

I'm Irish and lived an hour south of the border in Dundalk Ire. Most people don't understand Ireland is two countries....Northern Ireland: British governed/ British money. Than Ireland🇮🇪 ...we are not the same lands but are all good people. Unfortunately its a small minded country and resentment is alive.
