Thanks you covered most everything I was needing to know, you also started the motorcycle prior to draining the oil. But said nothing about warming the oil up for smoother draining I think that's a good idea is it not, to warm up the oil prior to get a more complete draining and faster drainage? IDK , but I think so Anyway thanks again
First this video is so helpful, made everything very clear. But what was that other filter you mentioned. Ive seen people talk about it before idk what its for though. Is it something I have to change?
THIS IS FROM THE DUCATI TECHNICAL SERVICE MANUAL IT'S THE FIRST FILTER IN THE OIL SYSTEM Every two oil changes, clean the oil intake mesh filter. Remove the cap (3) and recover the O-ring (4). Unscrew the mesh filter (5) withdraw it from its housing. Clean the mesh filter with petrol and compressed air. Take care not to damage the wire mesh. Refit the mesh filter (5) and the plug (3) with the seal ring (4); tighten to the specified torque (Sect. C 3).
No need for tightening oil filters with torque. I always do "hand tight" with cars and motorcycles. Not a mechanic, but I think it's ok to do it like that.
