The front brake discs came out soo good thanks to Motorcycle Panel and Paint in Perth. Cheers guys !
Also Jamie from Best Blast, bead blasted the heads ready for Darrell from Rusty's Specialized blasting to work his magic with the Vapour blasting.
Forks are fully stripped and still making a plan of attack with how to resurrect them.

Pumped to see how the engine turns out after blasting. When I have to rebuild the sport classic (hopefully in a little while yet) I'd like to vapour blast it. Still on the fence though due to concern of media getting Into the engine.

Hi James.I sealed up the engine for the dry glass bead blasting but the vapour blasting shouldn't be a problem. I will drop heads out this weekend to be vapour blasted. Will be sweet as !

Nice man! Next weekend I am taking my 2002 S4 wheels to have them powder coated. This got me excited for it. Wheels/discs look fantastic

Make sure that they know not to coat where the discs mount or the wheel bearings go. Major hassle if they do.

Turbobike, will you not be replacing all the bearings in the crankcases? I thought it would be easier to separate the halves & covers & avoid blasting the mating & bearing bores? Otherwise, this will be one trick looking classic Ducati! 👌🇦🇺

Gday Steve. Yep going to blast the cases with glass, then vapour blast them. Then strip cases down and replace all bearings. Just though I would get it all done in one lump. Also it will stop 99% of the blasting media getting inside the engine. Cant wait to see them progress. They are so yuck at the moment.

I hear you need three layers of tape for the vapour blasters water pressure

I think the vapour blasting can just have no tape cause its not as nasty as the dry glass beads.

That tool is by Racetech. Makes the job soooo much easier and almost fun.

@@turbobike749 I reckon you have to go gold, everything else is pure stock so the forks should be as well. I had my fork legs cleaned up in a lathe to get rid of the road rash then got them re-anodised.
