Found this bike to be very easy to ride. Lovely bike. Nice ergonomics. Takes a bit of getting used to with engine characteristics and how it delivers if used to inline 4. Found the heat an issue, constant heat thrown out and legs burning throughout which becomes uncomfortable. I couldn't live with this heat issue it really is too much. Lovely bike overall, great ride. It's certainly not slow, anyone saying it is doesn't know how it needs to be ridden.

from a sneak peak at a leak from ducati bosses, we know that in 2017 the middle weight Panigale will go from 959 to 1059 cc, whilst the big Panigale will go to 2899cc. Then in 2018 the big Panigale will be discontinued, the 1059 upgraded to 1099, and a new baby Panigale 849 will be released

I do like the fact that the USA model had the underbody exhaust and it doesn't have any engine silencing built in. I feel sorry for the riders in the EU having to deal with the liberal hippies in their gvmt.

Probably because it's the smallest Panigale and has "only" 955ccm. Also it has a V-Twin so you can't really compare it with a 955ccm V4 engine

+Sarthak Freez Absolutely! I wish they'd focus on making a 750 which they could enter in WSS instead of making these 'middle weights' which are only 37cc smaller than my 996S which used to be their flagship Superbike.. What even!?

At 1.07 they have a photo of the 959 with a similar exhaust to the 899 i.e. tucked away. Does this mean the shotgun exhaust is an option?

+Averroes Design USA has the regular underslung while in europe they have the shotgun exhaust

Hi itubrr, thank you for clearing that up buddy. It is such a shame as I really dont like the shotgun style nor do many other by the sounds of it. we seriously considering the 899 or its replacement i.e. 959 for the coming summer but shall have to see if Ducati shall introduce the older underslung as an option

To everyone saying the exhaust is horrendous: Don't worry I'm sure Akropovic will have a slew of after market upgrades to make it look better and sound even more amazing. Also, this is basically a liter bike. Looks like I won't be getting on a Ducati any time soon.

Its alright everyone, the exhaust maybe be crap looking, but you can still get the under belly exhaust for the bike. So everything is going to be okay. ;)

What's going on with the audio gear, last time on the "Best of" series microphones were too low and now wind is breaking appart the experience, hope it can be fixed somehow cause honestly i struggle to understand sometimes

honestly, Ducati's are works of art, never the best in performance but there beauty was beyond reproach!!! Since the 848 that beauty has taken a huge back seat, no single sided swing arm, going to japanese suspensions & an now(Europe only) the exaust on the side. I honestly dont see why I would buy this middle weight for the extra money versus's allthe other that are cheaper, its kinda sad!!

Its a shame that they need keep putting the displacement up and up. IMO 750-850cc is a sweet spot for balance between power, fuel consumption and useability on the street. CF 848 superbike + 848 streetfighter and MC Agusta F3 + Brutale 800

899 made about 150 hp IIRC, so I'm assuming this is the same, so 955cc 150 hp? Sounds like liter bike to me. Two liter bikes, makes so much sense, I mean, who would buy a small Panigale 696 anyway?

I dunno; all these grossly over-powered sport bikes whose potential can only be realized on the racetrack. For the real world of 50 mph back-roads the new Triumph Street Twin looks comfortable, very enjoyable, and easier on the wallet too cos you don't have to take out a 2nd mortgage for the valve service.

Seeing as how Britain is leaving the EU, does that mean that you could theoretically buy the North American version (with better exhaust) in Britain??

Just get the aftermarket 'underbelly' Akrapovic exhausts fitted. The dealer will even fit them for you. New bikes MUST leave the factory with the Euro4 exhaust, but they don't have to leave the dealers with them fitted. I know because it's what I didn't when I purchased my 959 last year :)

i don't get this bike?? why buy this? just buy an older 1098 that weighs 30kgs less with 90lbs of torque. hardly a middle weight bike anymore.
