Does the Ducati monster deserve the title of Modern classic. Its easy to forget that the monster is now 30 years old. As with all classics, its generally the first of the breed that gains the cult following first, but that can be difficult when the first born are harder to live with on an everyday basis, for me the later fuel injected models which, from appearance alone are more or less identical to the first models, even though they came long 10 years after its inception, now make a great first foray into the world of Italian classic bikes. i hope you enjoy this episode, i know the bike sounds somewhat evil but that's just why we like them. happy viewing and see you in the next one.

Wow! Great bike! I remember taking one on a test ride in 93, I had a Pantah 600 (still do) and immediately put the front wheel up in the air and nearly got kicked off the test ride. I do remember that the retail price was higher than the CBR900. I think it was around $8500 which ironically was about the same price in the states as the F1 750 biposto a few years earlier.

ha yes when you looked at the pricing it really didn't make sense, but it sold incredibly well and effectively saved Ducati

What temp does the guage say while riding on a hot summer day

hi micheal, good question, im very conscious of the temp gauge on hot days as with no wind particularly when waiting at junctions it can creep up to mid 90s, while riding in autumn and spring it sits nicely around 80 and will drop to late 70s when travelling at most speeds. i also note that the oil light will flicker on tickover when she's hot, that may just be a trait of oil thinning and tic over not pumping as efficiently. i certainly think its all working fine. i cat say id like to run this in a hot climate but i assume they operate in all climates.
